That's because OraQuick tests for HIV antibodies, and it takes your body up to 3 months to produce these antibodies at levels that can be detected by this test." Quote

Poz1956 Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 With OraQuick the earliest is 4-5 weeks. With lab Antibody/Antigen tests earliest is about 3 weeks. About 90% of people wil have enough antibodies by 6 weeks to show on all tests. By 3 months 99% of people who could show up Poz will be caught. It's very very rare these days for anyone take longer than that. Quote
Guest JizzDumpWI Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 All this said, remember that Oraquik only tests for HIV. Here in Wisconsin it costs $50. For $40 one can go to our local std clinic and get higher quality lab tests, full Sti panel, and treatment. There are other totally free clinics locally. Both in sensitivity and price, Oraquik doesn't make much sense here. I imagine this is the situation in much of the USA. Quote
