Stopping prep

If you decided to come off prep how long would you take it after your last exposure? I've seen some studies that say 28 days but then the prep on demand protocols only seem to recommend to take it for 24 - 48 hours after last exposure.

I had to change from one insurance to another for whatever reason. Anyway I was afraid I would be left with no truvada and my doctor told me 'you should probably take for a full 30 days after last exposure'.
