How do I stop receiving emails when someone messages me?

Can someone please tell me how to stop receiving emails every time someone sends me a message?  Thanks.

Near the top of each page, you should see a menu bar that has your user name with a drop down arrow. Click on the arrow. Select "Account Settings." Once you get to that page, look to the right. Under "Other Settings" select "Notifications" The options you are looking to change should be there.

I did that.  I don't see an open to stop sending an email overtime I get a message.
