Unfinished Stories

Anyone else wish people would finish their fiction stories?  It’s like 99% of the stories in the forums are never finished.  Personally I don’t think it’s cool to start some hot story and leave your readers hanging.  The Dalton story is an example of that crap.

Wish they would, absolutely. Especially Tumblr blogs. But I understand writing can be choir and not feeling inspired or satisfied with the work... especially when it’s at the whim of  readers.

Well - If you want to get some authors off their asses, the quickest way to do it would be to start picking up their stories where they left them and writing them yourself the way you'd like them to read. If they don't like the direction you take them, they'll pop back up quick enough.

And if they don't care, then maybe you'll develop a following of your own... but of course, then the monkey will be on your back to finish the story.

On the other hand - if you don't have the chops to write good stories of your own, and don't understand the skill and work required to create something that people actually want to read - and don't provide your share of what you're criticizing - then be grateful to have been given anything at all for free, and hush. You are not entitled to be entertained by their voluntary submissions, and they owe you nothing. If you don't want to risk being left hanging, don't read the stories.
