I've not been 'up the heath' in years, however I imagine that especially as we have been having some of the heaviest rainfalls in years (one months worth in 24 hours in some areas of the UK) that the areas of the heath you want to visit will be nothing but mud and difficult to negotiate.

Any regular heath goers able to update the state of the ground around the popular areas?
