Risk from oral sex?

Recommended Posts

Recently I paused my prep. Two weeks ago, I went to local cruising bathroom and gave my next stall guy a blowjob, tbh it was awesome, amazing cock, he ejaculated deep throat.

It was great, quenched my thirst. Then I realized: I do not have medication inside my body, even if it does, the level will be very very low as I stopped taking prep for a while.

Am I at considerable amount of risk?

No.

The risk of oral intercourse is substantially lower than that of anal. Plus, the proportion of HIV+ people who are not on meds has declined.

So your risk is pretty low.

I'd add that while HIV can on occasion gain a foothold in the mouth (usually through exposure between teeth and gums, especially if one has other dental issues), the throat and esophagus are not, to my knowledge, nearly as receptive to viral infection. Assuming he did, in fact, ejaculate "deep throat" (that is, with little or none in your mouth itself), the chances are even lower.
