I got HPV from my hyperactive slut phase in college and have had a consistent relationship with a colorectal surgeon ever since. Over 15 years, I have had to have a handful of excisions done. They had me try a topical treatment on external ones initially, but that did next to nothing. I got vaccinated as soon as it was available for males in the US in the early 2010s.

With regular checkups it's been largely manageable and thankfully hasn't been close to pre-cancerous since the early days.

Thankfully the most recent bout were just hemorrhoids and skin tags--but fuck me if hemorrhoid-ectomies aren't the most painful fucking thing on the planet. never have i literally begged for drugs before the most recent go around.

tldr: go see an ass surgeon

What's fucked up is I thought I cleared it. I had no signs for 16 years, until I got a big bottle of poppers  last month then they started appearing again.

Apparently 45 is the cut off age for the vaccine. That's what my doc said.

Yes, they will always say that, because "[t]here’s not a safety issue past age 45. We just aren’t sure how much the vaccine will help men and women who are past that age, because so many of us have acquired HPV by that point". So they're not sure, but cancer happens to be really, really bad, so I would suggest that you insist on it anyway.

When they say they are not sure, what they are really saying is "we haven't done the research yet". In the beginning, the HPV vaccine was only for girls before they became sexually active (9-12 years) and they were only focusing on cervical cancer. Then they realized it was boys of similar age that might give HPV to them, and that men were getting HPV related cancers in the mouth, throat, dick, and ass, so eventually boys were included too. Then they gradually studied more age groups and saw that there were benefits. Doctors serving gay men knew it would be important to give to any sexually active gay male.

Anyone who knows basic probability can see there is benefit to being vaccinated for HPV regardless of life-stage. 150 strains overall, 50 genital strains, 13 or so cancer causing. Imagine being the guy who caught one of the cancer-causing strains *after* he let his (ignorant/sex-negative/homophobic) doctor talk him out of getting the HPV vaccine.

Fuck that noise. Be your own advocate and insist on it.

HPV can be passed by close, intimate contact. Barebacking is not a requirement, hence the high rates of prevalence among gay and bisexual men. It can literally be passed by touch.

Depending on your age, you may struggle convincing a doctor for the vaccine, but as others have said, go to the doctor.

I got HPV from getting bareback  about 16 years ago. I had anal warts that went away. Now 16 years later they came back . Has anyone used  compound w and gotten rid of them? I tried  it twice and it burns like hell. I do plan on going to the doctors, but I'd like to get rid of them more sooner than later.

No. When I had anal warts, I went to doc and had him freeze them off. Uncomfortable, and put my hole out of commission for a few weeks, but they never came back. That was over ten years ago.

Isn't it  too late to get vaccinated after I already have  hvp?

Nope! The vacc protects you from all the other strains you did not have until no. That‘s my docs info- he is a specialist in that topic.
