757pozzybear Posted November 22 Report Posted November 22 So I asked my HIV doc if I could switch from Biktarvy to Dovato, and I started it last week. However, I started having the runs the past few days. Will it ever stop? I do appreciate having less brain fog than when I was on Biktarvy. 1 Quote
PozBearWI Posted November 22 Report Posted November 22 Thanks @757pozzybear as I am contemplating switching from Biktarvy to Dovato myself. I think I need my next labs, and potentially the ones following before I can decide. Typically GI symptoms clear up within the first couple of weeks, sometimes days. Adding fiber, and maybe something like Activia for a couple of days will help too. Quote
Monorchid Posted November 22 Report Posted November 22 I've been on dovato for about 8 years (in a trial to start with) and I've found it much better than my previous combo - it certainly plays better with my other medications and if anything my GI problems are better with it. Quote
Nude Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 (edited) In America, food is a significant factor, as is medication. American foods and drinks filled with preservatives and fake sugars are hard on all human bodies, with and without HIV. All medications, including preservatives, can prevent the medicines from working correctly. American fast food isn't what it seems. They are packed with all kinds of nasty stuff, along with seed, vegetable oils, Fruit oils, and milk/cream, butter is best. Fried foods use seed and vegetable oils. It is the Leading cause of all kinds of nasty stuff. Patrolium skin care plays a role as it gets into the blood and is worse than HIV or anything else. Got arthritis? Cut seed, vegetable oils from ones diet. When I eat seed, vegetable oils, my arthritis comes back within 5 minutes. This will vary from human to human. I stopped eating Organic because in America, you can buy the right to have the organic label even if not organic. No control on that label. Eating healthy helps a lot for all. When I got off all sodas and diet drinks, I lost 60 lbs. I was walking 40 miles a week and hitting the gym. My job had me walking a lot. Stopping all Fast food, I lost 60 lbs all within 5 months. Yes, my BMI was way out of whack. I thought it was a way of life and my genetics, as one doctor told me. No, it's America's crap foods and drinks. Losing 120 lbs in 5 months from each drink and food was a blessing for a much happier life overall. My GI worked so much better, and my body heals faster, with way less drama. Not sure if that was from dropping the extra crap or just feeling good as everything is in your gut. Listening to the body and looking for better food is key. Edited November 23 by Nude Quote
cockfun69 Posted 39 minutes ago Report Posted 39 minutes ago First review by my clinic and my kidney function isn't right. We discuss my much increased need to pee, bad sleeping and some body aches. So I've switched back to Atripla (generic versions). Apparently the second patient that day switching back. Quote
