Can you do poppers with Cialis or Levitra?

I know you're not supposed to do poppers with Viagra. Is it also a bad idea to do poppers with Cialis or Levitra? Or what about things that are more local like Caverject / MUSE or Trimix?

Please only respond if you are a medical professional, scientist, etc. or have discussed this issue with a medical professional, scientist, etc. I don't want people giving out medical advice without some basis in fact.

I checked with a friend who's a pharmacist... His advice was to wait till the viagra was hitting (timings can be very different if the V is prescribed because of diabetes) and things are moving to a sexual level. Then try the poppers in much smaller sniffs than normal and work up from there. Poppers (whether amyl or butyl) are intended to be a fast acting drug. As soon as you feel any of the classic poppers side effects (for me it's the feeling that my head is too small for my brain; come on, we've all been there) it's time to put them to one side for a while.

Freebie: if you're taking protease inhibitors, they reckon you shouldn't be taking viagra as well. The work around is in timing: most PI's are once a day drugs, so you take them as soon as you get up and the viagra when necessary, but preferably as far apart from the PI's as possible and follow the same protocol as viagra and poppers. Pay attention to what your body is telling you because you're the expert.

They also reckon that you shouldn't take viagra or poppers with medication designed to reduce blood pressure.

Of course, if you're really that concerned about your health you shouldn't be drinking, smoking or barebacking either... The human body is a damn sight tougher than we give it credit for.

Actually the previous poster answered your question, but left out a few dotted lines to make that clear.

The first dotted line is that Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis are the same, kind of like Tylenol, Aspirin, and Ibuprofen are all pain relievers. The big three in ED are different chemical compounds targeting the same element of body chemistry, PDE5, and inhibiting it.

The second dotted line is that inhibiting PDE5 causes vasodialation, a big fancy word for relaxing smooth muscles and increasing blood flow while decreasing blood pressure.

The third dotted line is that poppers are also vasodialators, albeit temporary ones, that you self control.

Put together, the point is this, regardless of which of the big three ED drugs someone is taking, they all work the same way, and that way is similar in body effect on blood pressure, as poppers. While the ED med and poppers combo is most likely to give you the mother of all headaches, the heart speeds up when blood pressure goes down, and if blood pressure drops too much, it can cause heart attacks and strokes, as well as causing you to faint.

Now, as for reality, there are guys who mix the two without issues. Having high blood pressure to start with helps to offset the potential for problems, but that's not a guarantee.

Some people who do not have a blood pressure issue to start with, who already take a BP medication, or who have a heart condition, may find themselves kind of woozy from just taking the ED medication on its own. These guys who be at a great risk of fainting or kicking off a major medical problem.

Somewhere in the middle is where most people will be, and will probably find the rush isn't as good as it was before and that it gives them a headache.

The long and short answer is you really dont want to. A good friend is an ER doc, and he has seen a couple cases of guys either taking nitrates for chest pain, and viagra/levitra/cilalis, or the same pills and poppers end up in the ER with extremely low blood pressure. He hasnt seen anyone die from it yet, but needless to say getting wheeled out on a gurnee from a hookup is NOT cute. Not saying it will always happen, but it can, and can be life threatening.

If you still wanted to do it, i would say it would be safest on cialis after 24 hours since there is less than 50% bioavailibility left at that point. But I wouldnt even do that.
