bearbandit Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 The European trials of PrEP have been sufficiently successful for a variety of UK HIV organisations to release a joint statement regarding its immediate approval... http://www.gmfa.org.uk/prep Quote
NordicBtm Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 Do you have any idea what the status is for other European countries? Quote
Bbikercub Posted March 6, 2015 Report Posted March 6, 2015 I can't believe that despite the positive outcome of the UK trial, they are still saying that PrEP might not be available in the UK until 2017!!! 1 Quote
backpackguy Posted April 27, 2016 Report Posted April 27, 2016 Always about the $$ - especially w/a Conservative govt. in power in the UK! UK and European PrEP trials for Truvada were really not necessary, the U.S. research & PrEP trials were extensive and conducted by some of this country's most respected research universities, including the University of California (UC), Berkeley and San Francisco. It was all about delaying the eventual approval of PrEP and "saving" $$$!!! We had the same thing in the U.S. when Reagan refused to acknowledge the existance of the AIDS epedemic amongst gays and "delayed" getting the government involved until the mid-80's!! Quote
