I sort of did the same thing by telling my doctor I had a new boyfriend who is HIV+ and undetectable. Actually that is sort of true, but not the reason why I wanted PrEP.  I then realized that the subterfuge was totally unnecessary as he told me that he feels that all sexually active HIV- gay men should be on PrEP unless there is contradicting medical issue.
