When to get tested?

Hi,

Took a load from a guy who recently converted and has a high Viral Load. Have got a home testing kit that I would like to use before going to get a test at a clinic. Been told that the test will give a more accurate result 12 weeks after exposure, but not sure, Is it worth doing it sooner, just dont want to waste it if it doesnt give me and accurate reading.

When do you think I should take the test?
