I hooked up one time from doublelist. I don't know if the following applies to all areas, but for the SF Bay Area they demand a phone number merely to browse ads. They say it's to prevent spam. How is my browsing going to contribute to spam? I encourage everyone here to contact doublelist's sponsors (that appear on the annoying auto-open spam like tabs) and tell them you won't use a shitty site like doublelist.

Just my $0.02.

The language limitations on what can be in a posting make Doublelist very tricky to use. By the time you sanitize the content enough to pass their censors, you’re not saying much to attract action. And even if you do post something clean enough, your posting may or may not get approved in a timely manner. I’ve got a posting that I know is clean enough to be approved because it has been before, but last time I used it, my ad sat in limbo for hours - so long that it ended up being pointless.

Very true, I only go there to post a request for a massage, and look for post advertising that services, sometimes I get lucky.

I've found it to be worthless, maybe it is because of their rules.  Here in Portland even the hardcore hookup sites are dominated by guys looking for relationships, companionship, cuddling, massage, get high with me instead of actual sex, so I've never even bother responding to a double list we, let alone posing one.
