Does anyone know a good shop in NYC to get gear and some guidance? Someone recommended Nastypig but when I checked the online store it looked a little sparse for what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a leather harness, armband, jock etc. I also want to speak candidly w/ the salesman about what I'm doing.

Maybe Nastypig is the best place to go but I'd appreciate any advice.

The Leatherman on Christopher is a great place and you can definitely talk candidly with the staff. However, for leather clothing I strongly recommend David Menkes. He can do custom leather for about the same price as the Leatherman and it looks way better than off-the-rack.
