Just been diagnosed with Hep C - I'm still feeling a little bit shell shocked at the moment, I know I've caught it from playing raw.

Had some of the symptoms of being infected so went to a clinic and surely enough, got the result. Of all the things I didnt want to catch, Hep C was my biggest fear.

My heads not stopped spinning since finding out :(

Sorry to see that.. I got it back in 2015, along with other medical complications. Fortunately mine cleared spontaneously. My specialist was looking at getting the new treatment program which was on trial then.. it's now more widely available now and has less complications that what was previously available.

At least now it is treatable and not the horrible disease that it was 20+ years ago. Good luck!

I got it a few years back but was lucky enough to join a clinical trial to get the drugs to cure it for free. I am not an IV drug user so I know mine came from group sex barebacking. My theory is that a rather hung top fucked a Hep C poz bottom raw, ripped up his hole in the process and entered me with the blood on his cock from the other bottom. For this reason, I am super careful and will not let a cock go from another hole directly into mine. If I am in a local where there are no paper towel or it is not easy to wash up between partners, I do very little fucking.

The drugs are still very expensive to cure it unfortunately. Good luck to you.

Seriously, the worst thing you can do now is head fuck yourself over it. I was diagnosed with Hep C and panicked, drove myself mental over it for months.

Thankfully I to got into a clinical trial for new treatment. That was worse then actually having HepC. Long story short, the new and current treatment works. Little to no side effects anymore. Treated it and now it’s cleared out of my system now.

For your sanity try and not stress or overthink about it.

My brother had Hep C, got it via tainted Red Cross blood back in the 1980s here in Canada. Last year he received a three month supply of horse pills, free from Health Canada. He took 1 pill per day for 3 months. His particular genome type was cured. Hep C is a nasty disease! I don’t know why some guys chase it...

  • I too got it a few years back but was also lucky enough to join a clinical trial to get the drugs to cure it for free.   I've had no issues since but I did lose about 5% of my liver function.  I'm fine now.

Do everything you can to get it treated ASAP.

Some guys will clear it on its own, but that's somewhat rare.  Treatment is relatively easy now, if expensive.  However HEP C causes irreparable damage the longer you have it, and can cause issues years down the line such as liver failure or liver cancer.

Lastly, as hard as it may be, I would try and refrain from sex for a while until you get treated or clear it.  While people today don't really have issues with HIV, HEP-C is another matter.  Look at BBRT, even guys who say they are poz or undetectable, they will say, HEP-C Neg and looking for the same.  Its really a matter of respect for other pigs who want to do piggy behavior, but may not have the means to treat a disease like HEP-C.  HIV treatment programs are widespread and often little to no cost, but HEP-C treatment even in countries with universal healthcare may make you wait for treatment.  On the topic of HIV, if you are HIV+ get and stay on treatment if you are not already.  HIV and HEP-C are a really bad combo, and can and will wreck your body quick without treatment.

Now someone said you are in the UK and it seems like the NHS is taking HEP-C very seriously, so treatment should be relatively easy to get.  Good luck!

On a side note, This is why I try and limit certain sexual activities.  For example, as much as I would love to pig out at Folsom Berlin,  I would go but probably hold back at least somewhat.  Not to quote this site, but those events are literally "Breeding zones" for HEP-C.

It is quite treatable now. Also it's possible to get it from inhalation substance use (e.g. sharing straws/keys/popper bottles) not just injection drug use or raw sex.
