Best places to try?

Frequent visitor to Austin from overseas. Never tried a bookstore, any tips or suggestions of where to go in Austin?

I’m a total bottom and mostly flaccid, so all action for me is sucking and getting fucked. 

All things Adult on 290: cleanest, and the cleanest guys, but they have some mean guys working there and they will belittle you and make sure you are in a room and using tokens. They also now give you 2.50 in tokens for 5.00 and I don’t think they increased their token-video times. More busy Weekend nights and lunch. Sunday afternoon not too bad. BB action but some condom freaks  

Slaughter and I 35:  busier more nights. More bb action. Place is run down but is cleaned. Tokens and policed for booth and token use, but nicer cashiers than 290. A little trashier clientele. A little more bb action  

Thompson lane and 183: $6 to get into arcade no tokens no harassing. And a mini theater for 7.50.  BUT very dirty. And much trashier clientele. Which also means more dirty action. Lunch time and weekends busier. Have seen some cloud blowing in there late night. Some weird garage/shop that has parties next door so it’s hard to tell which cars for what at night. Major road construction going on nearby.

I don't think any of them are open right now.  Hopefully they will re-open soon.  I usually go to ATA, but sometimes I go to the south one.  I have only been to Austin Six once, right before this whole Wu Ping Cough mess.

Austin Six is open again.  I went last week.  Not much action though unfortunately, but that kind of thing is hit or miss anyway, and maybe I was just there at a bad time.  ATA and the south booths are open as well, but ATA at least is only open Wed-Sat 11a-2a, or at least was last week.  Hopefully they will increase the hours soon.

ATA is 11a-2a, Austin Six is open all but 5:30a-6:30a.  I guess they close for cleaning or something.

Sadly, there's not a whole lot to do in Austin if you are looking for some dirty, fun, public action. There used to be a crappy bathhouse here about 5-10 years ago called Midtown Spa. It was closed just like everything else that was fun here once. Austin is by far the most vanilla city you will visit in comparison with other major cities its size. No bathhouse, no gay strip clubs. We have a total of 4 gay bars/clubs and 3 adult bookstores/theaters. All Things Adult is a Gay Bookstore way outside of town. It is the cleanest, and there is never a soul there most of the time because of the location. BORING. Then there is Video XXX. Probably the best choice and busiest. Staff isn't friendly, lots of cig smoke, dirty, AC doesn't work well so it's hot as hell in the Summer. Austin 6 is a very seedy, old, gross adult bookstore in the worst neighborhood. There are men and women there so not exactly gay oriented. It has a "theater" or what they call a theater. It's basically a small room with folding chairs and old futon frames that are falling apart. It's dark and the futons and chairs face a tiny pull down screen with porn projected on it. The best part: The porn playing is crappy straight porn so good luck getting in the mood. If you want to have that kind of fun, I would suggest San Antonio, Dallas, or Houston. All three have multiple strip clubs, bathhouses, and adult bookstores that are much more fun. Or if you wish to stay in Austin, your best bet is to log on to Sniffies.com and see what local cruising spots are busy. (99% of the time, they are all dead.) Literally every park, public bathroom, and gym is a gay cruising spot so they are easy to find and close no matter where you are.

Seriously?! That was the only Adult bookstore in town where you could actually find some decent action. You're lucky if you even see another person half the time at ATA. Austin 6 is just too fucking scary and gross. Kinda hard to be turned on with straight porn playing in their theater too. This city gets more and more vanilla and boring each year. I can't wait to get out of here and go to a real city with some bathhouses.

I go to Austin Six and sometimes ATA.  I was sorry to see the south place close, I had some fun there.  The real problem with Austin is there must be 1000 bottoms for every top.  And most of the guys that aren't total bottoms just want to get sucked.

Thanks for the details!! I’m new still to and finally too horny to keep trying in austin. San Antonio is not a far drive so I’m definitely going to go one night for fun at a theater/booth/arcade. You like them all or is there a specific one I should go to on a certain night or day??
