BlindRawFucker1 Posted September 12, 2020 Report Posted September 12, 2020 HasTruvada gone generic yet, and the big price reduction occured? If I remember correctly, wasn't it supposed to happen in September? Or, has covid messed that up also? Just wondering. Thanks in advance.
ConversionPiglet Posted September 12, 2020 Report Posted September 12, 2020 I went to Walgreens and inquired about the generic Truvada and they looked it up and said they don't have it yet and unsure if and when they would have it. Same on the price...no idea is what I was told.

Tenvir-EM has been on the market for several years now, same active ingredients as TM Truvada, but it has only been available for the most part through out-of-the country and offshore distributors, such as Inhouse and a few other offshore distributors. It is manufactured in India by Cipla, a well known manufacturer of over seas drug companies. I don't know about the price comparisons as to the actual Truvada, but in the beginning, I found it much cheaper in price at the time when I was considering it as an alternative to the over priced TM Truvada. It turned out that I was intolerant to the drugs, so that was where it ended in my case.
C10H15N Posted September 12, 2020 Report Posted September 12, 2020 It just happened for me. My PrEP script has just gone generic and no longer requires a copay or copay card.

Turns out Teva Pharm will be the only generic Truvada manufacturer for one year. No cost out yet. Don't expect big price drop until this window closes and more competitors enter market -> [think before following links] https://www.poz.com/article/generic-prep-arrive-september-2020-will-big-savings-follow
