Where to retire?

British guy here now retired in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

I suppose I am Anglo / American, having worked 23 years in Los Angeles so I can compare living in Los Angeles & UK

Firstly Malaysia is great for inexpensive high quality healthcare, it’s very cheap and easy to see a Dr , hospitals are of a very high standard ( I am retired physician), the cash payment is a fraction of co pays in USA , & unlike UK you can self refer to a Consultant

Living costs are inexpensive, rents cheap , food much less expensive than UK / USA

The only more expensive item is alcohol in shops , but in restaurants equivalent price to UK / USA

One of the best things about Malaysia is the attractiveness of Daddies to the locals ,Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures   Ethnicity, Indian , Chinese, Malay , Pakistani, Bangladeshi & for some reason they seem to like daddies like me

When I left Los Angeles my sex life was dead , on Kuala Lumpur I could potentially have a different man every day of the week, the apps are busy , the saunas are full

I would highly recommend Malaysia as a great place to retire, probably better than Thailand

Gay sex being illegal in Malaysia seems like a concern.

Sounds like a dream. I love those types of guys and being an older white daddy myself it would be nice to be chased after. How are the bathhouses?

In Reply to blackrobe , Gay sex is technically illegal in Malaysia but the law is not pursued, there are no prosecutions unlike in parts of Indonesia

There is a thriving gay underground, gay apps , gay saunas

Unlike most western saunas some saunas are “ “gyms” but on a different level there will be dark rooms, maize , sauna , steam room. Best sauna is Otot , in Kuala Lumpur which has probably over 100 sexy guys on a weekend, there are also sleazy basic saunas , entry fee about $4 with dark rooms, heaving with action  Super Blind sauna being one , also other saunas in Kuala Lumpur like Forest 52 , Kakiku , Mandi Manda

For $35 US , without tip , there are many massage places with varying degrees of Happy Ending by sexy Asian young men in their 20s

In Kuala Lumpur unlike Bangkok, there is only one gay bar Blue Boy , but most bars are gay friendly

As regards attitude of the locals, , they don’t care if you are gay , none of my ex Pat friends have had any problems from neighbours, police, businesses

Some of my Malaysian gay friends are out to their families, some not , but that’s not that different from some friends in USA

I and my ex Pat retiree friends certainly have more fun than we did in US or Europe/ Australia

I have friends in their 60s , 70s , 80s with boyfriends in their 20s & 30s , & the boys are not money boys , they often are attracted to older dads & seek the security of a relationship with an older man

Any questions about retirement in Malaysia, just message me
