I think I am going to have to give up on Rio and stay in São Paulo the next time I go to Brazil,.  The situation. you described sounds a little scary, but exciting at the same time. The problem with hotels in Rio is security and at two different upscale hotels I was told I could not take unregistered guests to my room.  They said my chances of being robbed were high and they could not take the security risk.  But there was an alternatives.  I later learned that prostitution was not a crime, there were articles about the subject during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, the city obviously wanted to be discreet about the subject but.............no one was arresting anyone.

One location is Rio I heard about  was from a gay man at the hotel I was staying at, The Intercontinental.  He was nice enough to give me the address, and it was in a residential area.  I thought I was going to something like a bathhouse.  When I got there this guy who had a German accent, blondish, greeted me and charged an incredibly low admission.  I could then decide if I wanted a room, a locker, or just lay out  by the pool.  The had a little counter where you could buy burgers and soda, and a large pool where everyone was naked.

I know Rio,  and even  in Acapulco, I have run into hotel management that told me "no" when it came to having locals in my room.  I could have drinks with them in the hotel bar but that was the extent of it.  

Who the hell wants to fly to another country on vacation and not fuck with the locals?  Not me!  I want to taste the local "cuisine'.  I have to admit to you, Brazilian men are fine, one of my favorites.  Fortunately there are a bunch of them in south Florida so if you come across one I say go for it.  I don't think a Brazilian guy has ever disappointed me, either as a top or as a bottom.
