Looking at buying it from Thailand, don’t really want it on my medical records what I’m taking and the cost is cheap, has anyone ever ordered medication from overseas before?

Yes, I've ordered cialis from India. But if you do this, it can be a crapshoot.

Assuming you can get all the blood tests done, including kidneys and someone to prescribe for you, it was one the ways to do it in the Netherlands before it became available locally.

You haven't listed what country you live in on  your profile. There are some countries where it is criminal offense to order medications from overseas. Packages can be checked by border control, and if linked to your home address, could result in prosecution. Just make sure that you are not breaking the law before you proceed.

I had a friend that used to order Prep from the far east  before it was available on prescription in the UK. The issue is that you don't know what is in the tablets. You run the risk of them being completely ineffective or worse still, they may contain something that could make you very ill due to an allergic reaction. A lot of these medicines produced overseas can be genuine but other have been found to be contaminated and manufactured in backstreet laboratories.

If you live in the UK Prep is available for free form sexual health clinics. Your doctor does not get informed that you are receiving the medication unless you give them permission to do so.

I agree on all comments. Why would you take a risk like that? Not knowing what is in the pills sounds very scary to me. You could be in the impression being on Prep but just swallowed some tablets of sugar. You dont know what is in the tablets! Just because of not wanting it on your medical records?

I would say: abandon the thought and start an official procedure to get the approved version altho it appears on your medical records. You only have one body.

As others have said I'd avoid dubious sources - you have no idea what's in it or if it's fake.  You generally get what you pay for.

Have a look at [think before following links] [think before following links] https://www.iwantprepnow.co.uk/buy-prep-now/

They were testing prep supplied by some overseas online suppliers in the days before it was generally available on the NHS - not sure how recent the information is though.

That said, it is important to take Prep with the support of a clinic - you need to be tested clear of HIV before starting -  taking it when you're already positive can lead to becoming med-resistant. You also need kidney function testing while you take it, and there are various common medications you shouldn't take when using Prep.

In the UK the medical records at the sexual health clinics are separate to your general medical records. My clinic can see my general records but nothing from the sexual health clinic goes into the general records, unless I ask them to.

I would seek advice and support from a reputable clinic.
