Roughme101 Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Chatting with a top near me n he gets tested reg for std but says he's HIV immune. Never heard of immune myself, thoughts or knowledge??
Falls727 Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago I’ve only heard of one person having an immunity to HIV and that was a genetic anomaly. It would make more sense that he is on Prep, which would, in essence, make him “immune.”

I have never really been interested in studying this any further as he has never been properly discussed as a potential source of an actual cure, so my info is up for query. IF he does actually carry an immunity to the HIV virus, then PREP would not be necessary.
FelchingPisser Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago From Wikipedia: "A small proportion of humans show partial or apparently complete innate resistance to HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. [1] The main mechanism is a mutation of the gene encoding CCR5, which acts as a co-receptor for HIV." My brother is one of them--and how he survived being an active gay man in NYC at the height of the crisis. I have never had the testing done to see if I carry it, too. PozBearWI Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I am one of them as well. The mutation has two forms, homozygous and heterozygous. Homozygous has both receptors mutated, heterozygous has one of the two mutated. Those with homozygous CCR5 Delta32 mutation are essentially immune to HIV; and if infected it won't go far. Those of us with heterozygous mutation are resistant to HIV, and once infected are slow progressors. Note though, HIV is an interesting virus, so it doesn't follow a rule book in how it unfolds. 1
beanna Posted 34 minutes ago Report Posted 34 minutes ago Congratulations on your knowledge of genetics And HIV having no DNA only RNA evolution has designed it to Continually mutate in the search For new hosts and species in which to Procreate successfully But their also a balance to be struck in virility and tolerance
