Moderators viking8x6 Posted Saturday at 10:05 PM Moderators Report Posted Saturday at 10:05 PM The devil is in the details, but numerous non-US governments have issued travel advisories for their citizens about difficulties with traveling to the U.S. At least one such incident that is specific to gay people comes up in a quick google search: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3122632.stm 1 1
PrisonbaiT Posted Saturday at 11:40 PM Report Posted Saturday at 11:40 PM The current result is that tourists from Europe and Canada, no longer book holidays to the USA, they rather prefer to stay in their own country, or travel elsewhere. Bookings from Europe to American destinations are already down 24% even with the cheap dollar to the Euro 1

They where stopped when entering the USA, hours interogated buy border control and ordered to return to Europe just because they where 2 guys seeming to be gay. This administration is on the hunt for people, and i think it will het worse. Could it possibly be that it was due to the personal prejudices of that CBP officer? We all know now that the rate of rejected entry has increased exponentially - and that they can now say and do pretty much whatever they want. At least the US still officially (for now) allows entry for HIV+ people - unlike Australia (if you are looking to get any non-visitor visa). Edited Sunday at 12:18 AM by TaKinGDeePanal 2

I think this could be knee-jerk given the exceptionally lax restrictions on border control by the (ahem) prior administration. To me it seems challenging that people are being flagged based on sexual preference. Is it possible that for some of these, the media is providing a partial rendition of what happened or CBP isn't providing the full reasons for denial of entry? For instance, if a CBP agent does an inspection from someone clearing customs from certain countries, they will look to see signs such as a visitor's visa but carrying work-specific equipment and enough evidence that they may be looking to overstay a visa and try to apply for work. The Philippines and India are 2 nations where that activity is highly likely. What we don't know, or aren't being told to be fair, is whether there are other mitigating circumstances or intelligence suggesting certain flights may be logical choices for potential threatening activity. I don't know your friends who've gone through this and cannot speculate, but I know people who've had encounters coming to the US who were "selected for enhanced screening" including a family that visited me in October. Some years ago, I got selected for enhanced screening coming out of Dublin back to JFK, and they did the process in Dublin pre-boarding. I have Global Entry, TSA Pre-Check and other items to help me pass security more easily since I used to travel both for business and holidays. I don't fit the profile of someone on a watchlist. CBP can see my travel record across the globe. I'm so white and American I probably scare Casper. But I got the full treatment and no one could tell me why. Yeah it sucks. 1
PrisonbaiT Posted Sunday at 05:33 AM Report Posted Sunday at 05:33 AM Sadly my friends had to undergo this in real life, this is not some crazy rumour. It was a very bad situation. Control is tight since this current goverment gave the green light. 1

Would this have happened under Biden? I have no way of knowing. But I have seen news reports that it has happened at other entry ports in the US - all under Trump. And there's a big drop in visitors from Canada and Europe now - why? Trump. So um, do we know what the identity of the border agents who sent them away? (If this happened) They could have been from The Religion You Don't Want To Talk About™. We have no idea.

If you're going to try to sell a fabricated, bullshit story, at least TRY to make it somewhat convincing enough for people to buy it. I don't buy that story for a second, nor should anyone else at face value. Yet everyone should believe all the stories (not news - as news is factual) on Fox. There are numerous news reports about people being denied entry or countries advising people not to travel to America

I think most gay politics underestimates sound ECONOMICS as the real liberator for anyone not in the majority. Bidenomics with its massive inflation put everyone back into pie-shrinking mentality and less broad minded. Whatever its merits, woke culture struck a lot of people as imposing fantasies and delusions on others who wanted no part of it. It’s not surprising there was a backlash. Bidenomics was not the cause of inflation. Too much money chasing too few goods was the cause and it was a bipartisan decision to give people money during COVID. They basically handed out a shit ton of money to workers and business owners. The Payroll Protection money was done under Trump, not Biden and it gave billions to business some of which went to workers but a lot went to business owners (if I had been quicker in seeing it coming I would I have started a business and hired all my friend and family and then gotten money from Trump to pay them all, with appropriate under the table kick backs to me of course). So there were multiple rounds of government tossing out money in bipartisan agreements, during a time when there wasn't anything to buy because supply chains were shut down. So as soon as things started opening back up, people started spending all the money Trump and Biden had given them. Meanwhile the Fed has flooded the financial system with tons of interest fee money as well. The Fed, Trump, Biden, Republicans, Democrats, and businesses padding their profits were all to blame for inflation. Anyone trying to blame any specific politician or party is either a fucking idiot, a liar, a partisan troll,.or a hypocrite. Which are you?
nanana Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I think you have a more thorough and more accurate description @Rillion. I agree that the uniparty passed bills in both the Trump 45 and Biden administrations that jacked up the money supply and debt, which has a cumulative effect over multiple institutions’ and administrations’ decisions. While I think your underlying analysis is good, I found the Biden administration particularly tone deaf in acknowledging the effects of inflation on the public and particularly willing to attribute it to things like the Putin Price Hike and claim victory over inflation when people were still suffering. As to whether I’m a fucking idiot, a liar, a partisan troll, or a liar, I leave that question for each to answer as they will.

Normal culture and life on Jan 2020 included ppl consigning homophobia to the past. But so many people found him utterly terrible and they found it easy to believe he was elected by massive fraud, cause of his pitiful old man ways. So the idea of someone getting in via illegitimate means, sends a message that you can start believing in your stupid shit again. And with some others, his creepy old man demeanour made them mentally "run for the hills", and it makes some str8 people trying to go "back to basics" where they start huddling like a bunch of people in a farmstead or something, they can't have "extravagant things" like gays being free. Have you seen the number of people engaging in more casual homophobia over the years on Facebook. It gets more frequent now. And of course, he promoted Islam which is our friend like Hep C is our friend. Look, how is our culture supposed to be the same if people pretend this guy is "OUR BRILLIANT LEADER" when he's actually a fucking vegetable. It was bizarre. Anyone is completely deluded if they think otherwise. Can anyone come up with an actual sound counterargument that isn't just "ME PRESS DELETE" or "ME PRESS BAN"? Blah blah blah, if you can’t talk about actual policy you’re the one who’s a fool. in you bio, the one thing you state is “fleeing Islamic countries” YOU! haven’t made ONE policy and law based argument. You’re simply making absurd emotional arguments without any facts instead ratcheting on things like “sniffing babies” have fun and have a “nice day”
