faghole4u Posted Monday at 06:17 PM Report Posted Monday at 06:17 PM I started with Truvada and when Descovy came out my doctor switched me to that. I do have Osteoporosis at a fairly young age. I continue to take Prep now. How many of you have been on some kind of prep for more than 15 years. Do you have any negative effects from it on your body? Not even sure when I started but Soon after the Truvada was available. Quote
Justaholeff Posted Monday at 09:15 PM Report Posted Monday at 09:15 PM At the beginning of taking it...I would have the loudest massive farts! Or it could of been the protein powder I had started for working out! Either way, they have stopped...thank the baby jesus! 2 Quote

I remember about ten years ago when everyone in Midtown, Atlanta started taking PrEP that there was a lot of farting & gas at the bars. I think initially when you start taking regular medication that it can seriously effect your body. I noticed that recently when I started taking some regular medications - hello, middle age - and when I expressed concerns about lose bowels, he said that was normal when you start any kind of regular medical regimen. Medicine can also cause nightmares.  1 Quote
Moderators viking8x6 Posted yesterday at 12:02 AM Moderators Report Posted yesterday at 12:02 AM I have osteopenia (not quite osteoporosis yet, thanks be), which I found out about because I broke a wrist earlier this year - first time I've ever broken a bone. I believe it's likely that Truvada had some role in that and have now switched to Descovy. And a lot of calcium supplements. 1 Quote

I’ve been on several cocktails that have had Truvada in it, now it doesn’t give me bad dreams anymore       1 Quote
leatherpunk16 Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago I can't say I ever experienced any weird side effects from it. No dreams, no excess poop, no nothin'. Maybe to a smiler I smell repulsive and like a hospital, but ... idk 😉 Quote
depravedslut Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I was on Prep daily during some years. My doctor noticed my kidneys were weakening. I had to stop during 6 month. I recovered and take it now on demand, without consequences up to now. Quote

Why the calcium supplements, dose Prep disrupt your calcium replenishment cycle? Quote
