I grew up in a small farming township, population 650, in rural Midwest not far from the Mississippi river. My HS graduating class was 36, K-12 was literally all in the same building. I was also very religious. After HS I was going to seminary to become a pastor, was self-aware enough that something wasn't right, dropped out and became a US Marine. While a Marine I got married to a woman. It became obvious that I wasn't sexually attracted to her and my whole façade crashed down around me. We divorced and I began to embrace the fact that I was into dudes. With one exception, I never had sex until I was married at age 23. The one exception was as a 16 y/o when a friend invited me over to spend the night. He and I messed around a little but neither of us orgasmed. The guilt I felt afterwards was so strong that I never spoke of or did anything like it again. My first real sex experiences with guys happened when I was 25 as a Marine, separated from my wife, stationed overseas in Japan during Don't Ask Don't Tell.
