The BDU is army, and his kit looks pretty specialized evidenced by the molle add-ons. Also he's wearing green underwear, grunts typically wear white, so they can surrender if forced.

 

Judging by his physique he's to jacked to be your standard grunt who keeps in the rear with the gear. He could be a heavy weapons specialist, but Airborne Ranger is way sexier.

 

Imagine six guys like that coming down on your LZ to deliver some punishment.
