[UK Sauna Slut] TIM Tattoo Challenge

For years I’ve wanted to get a tattoo done, but never really known what to have done. I wanted it to be something that was specific and personal to me, but what?

After testing positive last year, I thought about getting a biohazard tattoo – long associated with barebackers who are HIV+. But I still wasn’t sure about it. Then, on Wednesday last week, I stumbled across something on the TIM blog, The Island, which got me excited.

They challenge fans of TIM to get the iconic skull and swords logo tattoo’d on them. The idea was planted in my mind, and over the next few days it grew. I made enquiries at various tattoo studios around town, and today I settled on one.

You’ve probably seen it on such hunks as Dan Fisk, Damon Dogg et al. Some people think that its the preserve of those who’ve been fortunate enough to be in one of their films. Whilst I still dream of being in a TIM film one day (please Liam, I’m on one knee begging!), it is also available for anyone who is prepared to take on the challenge and gets accepted by those in TIM HQ over in San Fran! I emailed the delicious Mitch Mason (TIM Social Media & Affiliate Marketing Manager) with my proposal, and was surprised when I got a reply on twitter from no other than Mr Paul Morris himself giving me the green light, and welcoming me to the gang.

So at 2pm on Wednesday 15th, I am finally getting my first ever tattoo done. The symbol of barebacking hedonism. The emblem of a company which has inspired me for years. The ensign of the flagship of all bareback porn studios.

Some folk might think its a bit of a cliche, an outspoken barebacker getting a tattoo of the logo of the leading bareback porn manufacturer. But personally it means much more to me. Whilst TIM is a company, aiming to make a profit, they’ve also become so much more. They’re a family (those who are making porn with them), and to those like me, they’re a cult. A cult that I will be proud to be associated with.

Some say they’re disgusting, encouraging unprotected sex, I say they’re ground breaking. Filming real men, having real sex, as so many of us do all around the globe. I think Paul Morris himself once said that he’s not in the business of making “porn”, but documenting guys having sex as nature intended – and by God he and his team; Max Sohl, Liam Cole and others, capture some of the most intense, hottest, steamiest sex around.

What’s more, the logo in itself has become synonymous with the sort of sex that I just love. Imagine if you will, being in a sauna or sex club, and a guy you’re getting with is sporting said logo as a tattoo… it just says that this guy is into hot, nasty, raunchy bareback sex. Nothing needs to be said… it’s all there, in the flesh so to speak.

I must admit to being somewhat nervous about tomorrow. As I say, it’s my first tattoo, and I’ve no idea what to expect from the experience. “Will it hurt?” is obviously on the mind of every newbie getting his debut ink. Of course this is all down to each persons own pain threshold. I’d like to think that mine is fairly high, but only time will tell. On the whole though I’m very excited about it.

Pics will follow on the TIM blog over the next few days… keep up to date with everything tomorrow by following me on twitter.

That is certainly the question I'd ask myself, Josh. Unlike you, I've never had the courage to get tattoo, but I can understand the appeal. I'll be interested in learning of the level of pain you experience.

it all depends where you are having it and how good the tatooest is... i know people who have used a not so good tattooest and they have dug the needle in so hard they have left scar's on the area....

personally i dont find them painfull, i do have a fair few!!!! the top of my neck and the top of my shoulders were tender!!!. The feeling is like when you have sunburn and you scratch it.

Well its all done! The pictures are in the hands of Paul Morris. If he doesnt use them on his blog, then i'll show them on mine in due course... giving him first dibs on using them, and showing the pics - after all, it is the TIM tattoo challenge.

As for pain.. pah, dont know what i was worried about.

Its a mild stinging sensation, not at all painful. I found it strangely addictive... and now its over, am almost wanting another one NOW!

Its a as rugg_me says, almost like suburn being scratched... not really painful, just irritating, but not nastily. Hard to explain. But i was totally relaxed and enjoyed the experience.
