it all depends where you are having it and how good the tatooest is... i know people who have used a not so good tattooest and they have dug the needle in so hard they have left scar's on the area.... personally i dont find them painfull, i do have a fair few!!!! the top of my neck and the top of my shoulders were tender!!!.
