I think you need to focus on what's missing with bbrt or a4a. I think that is the ability to search specifically for bug chasers and gift givers in a given area, or see them all on a map so people know how far to travel. It would be great to have this same feature for all-loads-taken cumsluts. I know this goes against you wanting it to appeal to as broad an audience as possible, but I think we already have the mass-appeal bb site - bbrt.

Too narrow a market. Hookup sites have to have broad appeal or they don't get the critical mass to be successful.

Chat rooms would be a better development

Yeah, I know... I'll get back to trying to get that to work. A friend recommended a solution, but it's not cheap. Gotta figure out my budget. But first I'll try to see if the new version of the old solution works better than it used to.

I get this. You're right. But I really do wish there would at least be a search option for bugchaser/giftgiver. There was an old site, I think it was ultimatebareback.com? it had this and I liked it (not much else I liked about that site though). I am also REALLY into the idea of using maps. See, I live in Montana and there's not much for piggy action here, but I have a car. I like to look at profiles for places like Spokane, Salt Lake City, etc and plan trips. Maps would help. Like, it wouldn't have to show address, just cities I guess. It would be cool to see at a glance whether Spokane or SLC has more tops, bttms, or whatever, or if perhaps Boise is an unexpected surprise. I think it would be cool to be able to see the map, and click option boxes or radio boxes to add/remove layers. Like add the blue dots for tops, remove the red dots for bttms, and I don't know, do something with green triangles. Maybe those are bugchasers. Does this make sense? I have no idea how hard this would be to implement but I think it would probably be pretty tough. But, if you have a chance, I think it would be pretty damn cool, and it would be a feature no one else has. Every other site is geared toward guys looking for hookups in their own city, not so much guys planning piggy trips. Maybe not maps, even, but something to help plan trips or compare cities/states.

I may have a field that asks "how piggy are you?" Then if the respond very piggy, then they see options vanilla guys don't see.

I am also REALLY into the idea of using maps.

Maps are great. But I need to be careful not to have maps that would zoom in too much and reveal a person's location.

rawTOP, how is this progressing? Do we have a new hookup site in the works?

Searches for things such as gifters and chasers... With PrEP as a viable option I predict that 24 months from now, the whole notion of chasing will largely evaporate. I believe chasing mindset is really just giving in to what many of us view(ed) as inevitable outcome of our decision to bareback only (not unlike the pregnancy boom of the 50's). So while valid perhaps in todays bareback community; I question whether that will last now.

Besides, if the site is dedicated to bare hookups; then why even concern ourselves with HIV status? Does it matter? It might be more leading edge to drop that. We're really looking for tops, or bottoms. And we're looking for the best experience. I like the "ratings" feature that Squirt delivers. You can rate and comment on your hookup there. True, the rated one can not accept the undesirable posts; but if they're really that bad they won't get great posts anyway.

I'm working on other stuff at the moment. My big accomplishment the last month has been implementing a better, embeddable video player on Raunchy Fuckers. That's having a huge impact - I think today will be the day when traffic from player embeds on other sites gets to be bigger than regular traffic to the site. I'm quite happy :)

Bottom line - I need my existing business to be more profitable so I have the money I need to do the hookup site. Sales have been going well the past month or so, so I'm hopeful. And the additional traffic from the new player is a big deal for me.

I'll probably start in on the hookup site this fall. Maybe have something for the end of the year. There's a few other things I need to do before the hookup site.

PrEP has been interesting for me. It's let me explore risky fantasies I've had. But the curious thing is that I've found a lot of those fantasies just aren't for me. Reality isn't as great as the fantasy. So it's actually helped me get things out of my system and get back to what I really like - though I have found a few things that are new for me that will stay with me. [but all of that is a topic for another thread.]

The hookup site will have the same HIV status breakdown I have here.

I have been thinking about a ratings system. You both confirm for the system that there's going to be a hookup. Then afterwards you have the ability to rate the person. This accomplishes a few things - first the person isn't really serious about hooking up if they won't confirm the hookup with the system ahead of time - so fewer fakes. But there will need to be some way to control for bad reviews 'cause the chemistry is just off. Maybe your rating will be your modal or median average - not the mean.

one thought that would set a new bareback site apart from others would be "bugchasers" and "giftgivers" areas or profile options. No web site really focuses in on that, and knowing the types of followers you already have on breedingzone, that would be right up the alley so to speak. ;-) Also a section for straight guys, married guys, and curious guys - maybe a bareback first timer section, and a bottom virgin section, as well as older guys looking for younger, and vice versa. And of course an escort section for guys like me. ;-) Be nice if you could mimic the main sections of breedingzone more or less, and of course a free member video area as well would be awesome - real pozzing videos are so hard to find!

Whatever ends on it, I will gladly be a member!!

Asked and answered above. Too small of a market. If I wanted that I'd turn Breeding Zone into a hookup site (which I had contemplated).

I know this project is kind of on the back burner right now, but I've been thinking about ways to reduce the flake problem.

This is the thought I'd had: basically, you email back and forth with someone you're interested in having sex with. Assuming both of you want to get together, there's a button on each profile that says something like "Commit". If you both click each other's "Commit" button, then a notice appears on both of your profiles stating that you've already arranged a hookup (though not with who, publicly). That way you can nail a guy down. Furthermore, if he contacts someone else, that new person will see right off the bat that he's supposed to be heading over to hook up with someone else.

That commitment notice would stay up for a pre-set amount of time (say 8 hours maybe?), after which it automatically comes down again. You could bring it down earlier (say after two or three hours) either by mutual consent (i.e. both parties de-commit by some kind of arrangement), or by posting a "review" of the trick, which would be limited to a number of pre-set options (e.g. "No call, no show", "Called to cancel", "Showed up on time, had fun", "Showed up, didn't match profile", etc., etc.---maybe half a dozen options to keep things simple---basically we want to know, did he show? and was his profile accurate?). Plus maybe a simple star rating for the overall experience. Or better yet (to avoid hurt feelings), a simple question: would you fuck again? Yes/No.

Now, you wouldn't be allowed to do this review of anyone else on the board unless you'd both "committed" to a hook up. That prevents crazies or people with an ax to grind from driving down your stats. You'd only be allowed to review a member once every, say, three months or so (or maybe the new review overwrites the old one, so each member can only have one active review of you up). That way, friends can't inflate each other's stats (at least not without creating multiple profiles).

Finally, everyone's profile would have a "stats" page, where their averages would show (as a percentage, so we're not "outing" how many guys you have sex with). If you committed to sex with 6 guys but failed to show up for three of them, you'd have a 50% "No Call, No Show" rating. Not so good. But if you're 100% "On time, as advertised" then everyone knows they can trust you when you say you want to hook up. And if you also have a high "Yes, would fuck again" percentage, then you really know you have a quality reputation.

I think you can't allow people to just freeform the reviews or get much more detailed than that, otherwise things will get out of hand. And really, that's all you need to know: Did he show up or flake? Was his profile accurate? Would you have sex with him again? And each review would be anonymous to everyone else on the site (though you could probably figure out if your most recent fuck gave you a good or bad review by watching how your numbers update...maybe you could just rerun the stats once a month or something)

Here are the problems I foresee with this kind of system:

1) Guys who acquire a bad reputation would simply delete their profile and start again. You could control for this by never actually deleting a profile, just making it inactive and invisible. That way if he tries to make a new profile with the same email address, you could just ask him if he wants to reactivate his old profile but not allow a new one. Also, I'd foresee that guys with new profiles vs. established ones with good reputations would have things a bit harder anyways. And the community could be self-policing...there could be a way of reporting someone who's using duplicate profiles, which would let a mod compare pictures, stats, etc.

2) People could create multiple profiles with the express purpose of running up each others' stats artificially. Again, limited each email address to one profile helps with that. And the nice thing about the "commit" feature is that you can't review someone unless you both hit that button, and there's a minimum amount of time you'd have to wait before you could commit with someone else. So that at least slows things down.

3) Running three-ways, groups and parties would be a hell of a lot more complicated. Basically, the whole "commitment" and review section wouldn't be accessible for that sort of thing, but that's probably OK...those people could still set things up as they do now on BBRT (albeit at a higher risk of flakes).

On the subject of parties, I like how BBRT lists who's RSVP'd. Maybe the party host could have a way of simply stating who showed up and who didn't. That could be a separate stat on your profile (party attendance percentage or something).

Anyways, the whole idea would be to create a simple reputation system that would be hard to escape, and hard for one person to overwhelm.

Great minds think alike. I thought about that a couple weeks ago and have a data model sketched out that would accommodate the concept.

Though my boyfriend brought up an important point - negative ratings aren't a good idea. Only talk about the positive. So it's more about who you can trust than who you can't trust. So you'd see things like "<10% cancel rate", but not "90% no-show rate".

I'm also thinking in terms of lists of "fav bottoms/tops/flip fuckers" which could be extended to "if you like this guy, then you should like these other guys…" So basically if two tops both like the same bottom (based on actual hookups), then the other bottoms liked by top A would be suggested to top B without revealing who the other tops are.

I'll also be able to put badges on people's profiles like "Fav'd as bottom by 10 tops". That gets tricky though. Let's say my profile says vers top. I want people to think of me as a top, but sometimes I let guys fuck me. Some guys really get off on topping tops, so I may get fav'd as a bottom. Not sure that's something I'd want bottoms to see since I'm in top mode with them. So some of this stuff will be contextual. I'd hide the fact that a vers bottom was fav'd as a bottom to other bottoms.

But yeah... We're definitely on the same page.
