What are your experiences hooking up as we begin to return to normal post Covid?

For the past 14 months my only sex has been with my hand. I have several comorbidities, so I have been overly cautious, to the extreme, to protect myself and loved ones from Covid-19.  But now it is April 2021. I have received the vaccine and am now protected. When I received my second dose of the vaccine, it was like a heavy dome had been over me and suddenly it was lifted up and I could get out from under it. I had lost a few friends to Covid this past year, but I had survived the pandemic.

This weekend I went to visit a relative in a city a couple of hours away. I used to live there as well. I was really looking forward to the trip because there is an adult bookstore / novelty shop / theater there. There is a booth area in the back with glory holes, several small theaters and also a few private viewing rooms. No nudity or activity is allowed in the front store area of course, but management is okay with anything in the booth or theater areas. Some guys are genuinely taking Covid seriously, and others  are using it as an excuse to exhibit the same behavior they did before Covid. Those guys who reacted the way they did would have done the same had their been no pandemic.

It’s pretty much back to normal at Paris, the ABS near me in Dallas. Not as crowded, to be sure, but few guys are maintaining a six foot distance. Guys do keep their masks on but are going into booths together and in groups to play. Masks come off for sucking and kissing. I think it will be a long time before we return to a level of normal like in 2019. This will now always be here at some level, but it won't be as catastrophic as it has been. Now it will be part of how much we are willing to risk, just liking weighing the risk of getting any other STDs from sexual contact.

I agree 100%. I've had friends and family get very sick or die because of Covid. Even though I'm vaccinated now, it's still in the back of my mind and it does have an impact on how much risk I take. It's one thing to risk getting a STD to fuck raw, but an entirely different level of risk to say I will still fuck randoms even if it means I could get very sick and die. I think about those times I spent hours in darkrooms or at sex parties with strangers and how that just might be a thing of the past.
