Bottoms who moan out of sync

Is it only me who finds it mildly annoying when you’re watching a bit of porn of a bottom getting railed, and you suddenly realize that his pattern of moans is out of sync with the Top’s thrusting? Like what you hear is Unh-unh-unh-unh-unh but the Top’s only thrusted three times. Clearly, the moans aren’t reactions to what’s being done, so it just makes me think that the bottom’s performing, but not doing a very good job of it.

Maybe I’m just too critical, but that always puts me off.

I can't stand to watch videos where the bottom is moaning at the wrong time.   The ones that really tick me off are the ones that moan with the same tone and speed all the way through the video.  I don't understand way the directors put up with that shit.  I'd tell them to make it real or they don't get paid, because it alway seems like it's the gay for pay guys that are shit at it.  Broke Straight Boys is a prime example.  I can't stand to watch those videos.

Well, just like anything else, I suppose - there are quality products and there are inferior products on the market.  I think sometimes these talentless video editors get one chance at their task, and whatever ensues gets peddled.  Having a bit of a musical ear, I've actually heard the same soundtrack used on two entirely different videos !!!  Talk about cheesy ....

That's far more likely. Porn, unlike "real" film and TV shows, is shot wherever the producer can find a place; there are physical porn studios, but they're not fancy soundproofed buildings with ideal acoustics and powerful boom mics that can pick up the sounds needed, discreetly. They're shot wherever they can find a place, often in a house that someone lends them or an apartment or hotel room or whatever.

So sound re-recording is often done, dubbing over the original tracks, and it's sometimes sloppy work. The actors may have grunted exactly in time with the action, but there's no guarantee even that the moans you're hearing are produced by the bottom on screen. Just as there are stunt dicks and stunt butts out there, there are stunt voices for the sex sounds.

This is a good point. And it makes such out-of-sync audio offputting for two reasons - first, if you realize the audio is not only out of sync with the thrusting but also out of sync with the bottom’s mouth movements, it destroys any sense that you’re watching something real; and if you see that the bottom’s mouth is moving in sync with his out-of-sync moans, you realize it isn’t a bad dub and he really is just putting on a shoddy performance.

All of which assumes you pay any attention to the bottom’s face to begin with; but I particularly enjoy watching the subtleties on a man’s face as he’s being penetrated and cunted. Those ungoverned expressions speak volumes about what it means to be bred by another man.
