A hookup has just been tested positive for gono. Are there sometimes no symptoms? Cheers.

Yes sometimes no symptoms. I had syphilis a few weeks ago... nothing untoward but I tested at Dean St for my hiv meds and they found it..

Most severe symptoms I have seen for gono have been a milky (not cum) discharge coming from the penis.  It can be very difficult to urinate, and painful.

Syphilis can sometimes be more difficult to detect.  Sometimes the first sign can be a headache that you can't shake or sometimes a stiff neck.  In many cases you don't even know you have it.  Another area to look at are  your palms, are there blotches, do your palms itch?    Sometimes if you have blown someone  who has it you might have white blisters inside your mouth that make it difficult to eat .

I've had gono many times. I'd say about 50% of the time is asymptomatic.  In the mouth is very mild but you get a bit of a scratchy throat. In the bum just feels like your hole is not normal and feels like puckering up all the time (clam feels the same). In the dick usually you may get a white discharge.
