It's probably not even a legal issue. Explaining why the site shut down would make everyone involved look bad. I'm sure the founders want to put their experience on their resumes. So revealing fewer details is better.

It might be. I think that based on what Verslut said that they were just done. I'm sure the hosting was getting expensive.
