Ya I don't bottom much, but when I do, definitely girth.  And can power that girth to get in a tight hole.   My deep ring is super shallow, like 5" back, so anything notably longer than that doesn't have a lot of extra feel anyway.

That’s not always a bad thing- a semi hard 9+ inches can deliver all the pleasure of a hard 8 without destroying your hole. It’s a similar feeling to taking thick uncut dick with lots of foreskin. To me that’s probably the best of all options since at maximum excitement it’ll likely get to full hardness mid-fuck or ar least pre-nutt which feels incredible inside. 
 

That said I’ve had lots of experience with dicks bigger than my own 7.5 inches (at least a thousand) and I’ve learned a few things:

first, as already mentioned, size is relative. I’m tall but I naturally have a very tight hole (per my colorectal surgeon, the tightest she’s ever seen which you would think is an advantage but is actually quite a challenge for an aspiring power bottom). 
 

second, your ability to take big dick depends as much on your mindset as your hole. Even if it’s a challenge to take, your attitude, patience and approach- basically how much you really want it - will determine the outcome. 
 

finally I must say that as someone who struggles with (inguinal nerve) neuropathy as well as various spinal issues (sciatica, alignment issues etc), I can personally attest that there is nothing more effective at relieving the symptoms of the two aforementioned conditions than an exceptionally large dick stretching, prodding, poking and stroking the area inside where the nerves flare up.
