I am strongly recommended to end my 5 years of medicine free lifestyle. While my stats have remained very steady throughout my doctor will starts ART after October November testing.

What is the overall experiences of guys on ART as to staring the medicines? Side effects? Sex drive ? Anything and everything as information advice recommendations are welcome.

Starting medicines will begin another phase of my life.

I've been on meds since 2008 and started soon after diagnosis with a good CD4 count and moderate viral load. I started on Atripla which was known for side effects. For the first two weeks I did not feel well but after that there were no issues.
I switched to Biktarvy about 8 years ago and everything thing has been fine. Always undetectable, good bloodwork and no side effects.
You will be fine and you'll stay healthy

After 10 of being poz, I started on Atripla. I recall the dreams were so vivid. I was having incredibly sexy and intense dreams. This wore of eventually - poor sleep but no more sexy dreams…😭

Changed to Delstrigo which helped improved sleep.

Otherwise no other significant side-effects. Always undetectable.

I've been on Triumeq since diagnosed 7.5 years ago, and have not suffered any side effects. Just got my labs done last week, so can verify no liver or kidney issues. As to sex drive, I'm pretty sure it would be still be considered high for a normal 56 year old.

I started on Triumeq in 2017 after succumbing to AIDS related double pneumonia with a CD4 cell count of 34 and a viral load a little over 100,000. At first I had nausea most nights for a week but soon got over that. A couple of years ago I was switched to Biktarvy and have had no problems at all and a sex drive any 68 year old man would love to have.
