  1. I have no recollection of what it looked liked Why?
  2. The vertical bars are there because it's quoted text from someone else's comment. It distinguishes it from the remark that person is making. An option to turn off background pics and enable sound will be coming for accessibility reasons.
  3. It's been there from the start. Right above where you type your comment.
  4. I'll make the comment area smaller. I noticed that last night when I was on my iPhone (on my 27" monitor it wasn't a problem – lol). Emoticons are not supported, but emojis are supported. Is that good enough?
  5. Well, I nearly cleared my list of bugs and enhancement that I compiled yesterday (and took care of a few more things I noticed today). So another question for you guys… Advertising. I'm thinking the most effective form would be text ads in the chat stream. They'd be kept pretty minimal. I'd put a limit on them where they couldn't be more frequent than every 10 minutes AND there would need to be at least 50 (real) chat messages between them. OR I could do banner ads. Do you guys have a preference? Also @kitpig said he thought the new chat was "clunky". If you agree (or disagree) can you guys explain what needs to change to make it not clunky? Otherwise, I think it's mostly done. So let me know what you want changed. [@BlindRawFucker wanted sounds. I hate sounds, but it's an accessibility issue for him, so I'll look into it. And I think he was the one who wanted to get rid of the background image – again for accessibility, so I'll work on that.] Also – I'm struggling imagining how you'd get alerted when someone wants to do a 1-on-1 chat with you. So thoughts on that would be helpful.
  6. To explain why I asked about topical chats… My eventual goal is to split up Breeding Zone into a number of different brands. #BBBH.Men for general barebacking Poz Pigs for HIV fetish Oral Pigs for oral Public Urinals for watersports ??? for straight stuff ??? for chem sex But I realize each of those needs critical mass for chat to be successful. That said, someone who is turned off by bug chasing may participate in a cleaner bareback chat, so this is a case where the sum of parts may be greater than the whole. But first there needs to be critical mass for each brand. You guys all said you wanted a unified chat. So that's what I've given you. And it will remain. But once I tackle a few other issues I'll be introducing nice-based chats. I've got them mostly programmed. The only thing lacking is user profiles on those other sites. (I could do them easily, but I want them to be integrated with the profile names here – so when you have a profile name it's reserved for just your use on all the other sites.)
  7. I managed to accidentally delete the other thread about chat (sorry – I thought I was deleting one comment). So give me your thoughts on the new chat. I still have a list of things I'm working on, but your input will help a lot. I'll post questions here. If you can answer them, it will help me debug things. First question – do the times on the responses seem correct? In other words, if all the messages (or a lot of them) say "now" – that's a problem, or if all of them say they were posted hours ago – that's also a problem.
  8. As the owner of the site, I fully support my moderators. They do an awesome job. It's truly rare that I disagree with how they moderate the site. If anything I'd have them give more infractions, not fewer. As far as this particular case, I've seen a lot of sites die. Nothing kills a site faster than negativity. That's why we don't tolerate it. You have the down vote button. Use it if you like. But verbalizing things just for the sake of being negative isn't OK. It's not what this site is about. An no, you don't have any freedom of speech here. This is a private site with rules of acceptable behavior. If you can't live by those rules you'll be asked to leave (temporarily or permanently).
  9. We hardcore barebackers take risks other people aren't comfortable with, here's your chance to do some good for the community while taking that risk… There's a Phase IIB HIV vaccine trial going on right now that needs volunteers. It's called The AMP Study (aka HTVN 704 / HPTN 085). One third of the people are getting a high dose of the vaccine, one third a low dose, and one third a placebo. They've done basic safety tests, so the goal of the study is to see if it's safe in a broader group of people, and to determine what dosage of the vaccine works (if any). There is substantial risk in this study. There's at least a 1/3rd chance you'll have zero protection. And there's a chance the low dosing won't work, and possibly even the high dosing won't work. I doubt they want people who are on PrEP, since that would mess with their results, but I haven't confirmed that yet. If you're in the study you'll get an IV drip for 30-60 minutes every two months. And I'm guessing you'll need to keep a record of all your sexual contacts so they know how much risk you take. And that's why guys who take risks are perfect candidates. The more risk the study participants take, the more definitive the results of the study. So you'll literally be giving back to your community while you're ass up in the bathhouse taking loads (and not just to the tops who breed you). If you're in NYC, and you're interested, click here for an online survey to see if you're eligible and indicate your interest. Outside NYC, contact your local HIV research center to see if they're participating in the trial. They're looking for 2,700 participants, so research centers all over are participating in the study.
  10. I just saw a notice that the maker of the software that runs this forum is ending the chat feature come May 1st. I'll look into other solutions before that time. In the meantime chat is what is what it is. I'd rather spend the time I have coming up with a new solution, not fixing a solution that has no future.
  11. I'm clamping down HARD on people who post restricted topics in public areas of the site. I didn't usually give infractions if I didn't catch the offending thread within a few weeks, but I'm now giving infractions even for old threads. And if you've done it more than once it will be a LONG time before you can use this site again. And ditto if you post threads in the chem sex section (or elsewhere) trying to facilitate drug transactions. If you want to avoid that fate, report your own posts (and your friend's posts) using the report function. If a moderator moves it based on that report, you won't get an infraction. If you're wondering why this is happening, FetLife just got their ability to process credit cards taken away. There's "illegal" and there's "things that Visa & Mastercard don't like". Unfortunately we have to live by the latter – especially on public-facing pages. [And to be clear "illegal" isn't permitted anywhere on this site.]
  12. AT&T? I could see a largely mobile carrier "caching" things that shouldn't be cached. I just did a minor upgrade of the forum software. I'm not expecting it to help, but it might. Bottom line, I need input from more people to understand what the common denominator is. It's only affecting a small number of people.
  13. Clearly this problem is rare since most people are logging in and posting stuff. I can't replicate the problem and until someone can give me a test case where I can replicate it, there's nothing I can do. I don't know what OS (and OS version) you're on. I don't know what browsers you've tried. I don't know if you're going through a proxy server. And so on…
  14. Recent likes (aka "give reputation points") and follows can be seen under the activity tab on a person's profile. Older activity was dumped in the upgrade. Give me a day or two and I'll enable "default". I thought it was too ugly to use, but if you want it, I'll enable it as an option (though it won't be the default option, despite the name). There are two reasons why I use dark themes – 1) it suits the subject material, IMHO, and 2) about half of the visitors are on mobile devices and dark backgrounds use less power, so they're more battery friendly. What would be the best upgrade? There's a lot that's been mentioned in this thread… Reputation points are the result of the up/down vote buttons. You can only give 10 per day. It will tell you when you hit your limit. I haven't seen any other instances where you can't vote up or down.
  15. Ah, one other thing… @st8boy2012 managed to post pics in chat. Something I thought was impossible. But the way to do it is to drag and drop the image from some other web page, or copy and paste the URL. I think it has to be the only thing in the chat message and if so, it will appear.
  16. Ah, Raunchy Fuckers. With this upgrade I'm guessing you can no longer login there with your BZ password. If there's anything removed from there, let me know. In the not-too-distant future all the commercial videos on RF will be moved to BBBH.com. The guy I'm gonna hire as a lawyer says I'm not allowed to move the user content on RF anywhere else and there are legal issues with all the user-uploaded videos as is (uploads have been disabled for a while). SO, that means all that will go away at some point. However, when I get around to developing BBBH.men, you'll be able to upload personal videos there.
  17. I just tried to implement something to give you the ability to make fonts bigger/smaller and it didn't work. I'll suggest it as a feature to the theme designer and see what they say, but no promises. Sorry about that.
  18. We get asked a lot whether warning points expire. The answer is no, they don't. But you shouldn't worry about it too much. Only you and the moderators can see your warning points. If you racked up a few points 2 years ago, we really don't care too much. They stay there to discourage repeat bad behavior, but let the moderators be aware that they might be seeing repeat behavior if you continue to do things that break the community rules. Bottom line, once the penalty wears off from your infraction, don't worry about the points.
  19. Deleting your membership (something you can't actually do), doesn't delete posts since it would make the site completely confusing since threads depend on a continuity of discussion. Moderators can edit posts to remove personally identifying information. Just click on "Report Post" above the post and say what the problem is.
  20. I can see you've sorta replicated what I had done for Cumdump Network. Well, Cumdump Network (when it launches next year) will be for both anal and oral cumdumps. And there will be a sister site, Public Urinals, for piss bottoms. They'll all work more or less the same way.
  21. OR, go to the bottom and choose the Villain theme from the dropdown on the word Theme. It has no transparency. Yeah, I had a problem with it too and increased it slightly in the body of the posts. On desktop you would do Command + (or whatever the Windows equivalent is). If you're talking about landscape, that means you're on mobile. I just googled it and found a possible solution. I'll have to figure out how to implement it. I'll try to get it done by end of day on Monday (if not sooner).
  22. Last question first – Otters are thin and hairy. Bears are much larger. Looking at your body type, you'd probably be called a cub – especially as you get more hair. (Cubs are shorter than bears and often younger). That said, congrats on your transition! I personally think FTMs can be really hot. Some guys aren't into the vag, but it doesn't bother me Whether guys find hair a turn on depends on the guy. It's neither right or wrong. Everyone has their preferences (and that's OK). Personally I just don't like subble… Everything else depends on how well the guy pulls it off. Some guys would look weird with hair, others would look weird if they were smooth.
  23. More changes… The chat room is no longer cluttered with messages of who's entered and left, and you can see recent comments when you go in. And I've added some banner ads in between the posts. Just one or two per page (plus the ones at the bottom). If they irritate you, just realize that they help pay for the site. Speaking of banners, is anyone so bothered by them that you'd do a paid membership to turn them off? If so, let me know. I prefer to keep things free…
  24. FYI – I've disabled the image backgrounds for mobile users for the main "Chameleon Dark" theme. They were already disabled completely for both mobile & tablet for the "Villain" theme. I wasn't happy with the page load times on mobile, and the images were rendering oddly on iPhone.
  25. First off, if the site just went haywire on you. Sorry about that. A reload of the page should fix it. I implemented having some of the static files served via a CDN and got the settings off for a bit and it took a while to change things. For those who aren't technical, CDNs put static content on servers around the world so the site should load a bit faster if you're somewhere like Asia or even Europe. For some of the content on the page you'll be hitting a server that's closer to you geographically. This is under advanced search. Click on the search box, and a pop up menu will appear next to it. Choose Advanced Search at the bottom and you'll see all the time periods you're looking for. If that's not the same as what you're looking for, let me know. There are no more "friends". Sorry. Now there's just followers. If you look up in the thread I explain why the change was made. I know what you mean – lol. I'm still experimenting with what I put in the sidebar. But I'll keep that in mind. Or maybe just put one or two pics so they're not so dominant. I didn't even notice that private chat was an option. Actually I like private chat – it means less in the messaging system taking space in the database (deleting message threads is overly complicated now). Bottom line, I don't mind private chats, so they stay. They serve a purpose and don't stop other people from doing public chats. Other webmasters are pushing Invision Power (the makers of IP.Board) to add chat rooms to the chat application. That will help a lot and address the issue you're talking about – which is really a perception issue. Who knows when chat rooms will happen, but AFAIK it's in the works and people are saying it's overdue. So we'll see… I'm guessing the original poster colored the text and it's now incompatible with the new interface. When you see something like that click on "Report Post" just above the post itself and let the moderators know there's a problem and one of them will fix it. That's from a private album. So when the person who posted it initially set it up only he and his friends could see the images. Now that friends are gone (see above), people with private albums should consider making them public. You'll need to contact the user and ask him to make the change. Since he set it up as private, it's not our place to make it public.
