What Do You Think Of The New Version Of Breeding Zone?

I will no longer respond unless you state your platform and browser. -
Your Old Web Browser Is Why This Site Looks Like Crap…
rawTOP replied to rawTOP's topic in Tips, Tricks, Rules & Help
Really? I have an original iPad for testing (a worst-case scenario) and I'm a little irritated that it goes into "mobile mode" in portrait, but when I switch to landscape and reload the page it looks just like the desktop version. Have you tried changing orientations? Do you just not like the reduced info on the page and how things are rearranged? That's sort of necessary for small screens. At least you can turn the screen and see the normal, desktop version. -

Thanks for reminding me of that. It should be fixed now. -
What Do You Think Of The New Version Of Breeding Zone?
rawTOP replied to rawTOP's topic in General Discussion
I've figured out why a sizeable minority of you are having problems. It's your browser… It's OLD… Read this… https://breeding.zone/topic/29981-your-old-web-browser-is-why-this-site-looks-like-crap%E2%80%A6/ So basically I'm not supporting anything but the most common browser versions. That means those of you on IE7 or IE8 need to change browsers. Either upgrae to IE 10 or 11, or switch to Chrome or Firefox. If you're still having issues, please state what OS you're on and browser you're using when you tell me your problem. I'm assuming this is the reason why people are having issues. I'm going to delete the poll and start a new one which specifically says not to vote unless you're on a current browser. I just don't have time to try to please people who can't be bothered to keep their software up-to-date. -
A few of you have been saying that the new site looks like crap which surprised me. Some said the navigation was terrible. Others said the site was way too bright. I didn't really understand the issues until I did some testing on older browsers. I'm mostly a Mac person and everthing looked decent for me (a few tweaks were needed, but nothing major). Today I pulled out my old Windows XP laptop and looked at it on IE7 and the site was pretty much unusable. Then I went on a website that lets you see what your websites look like on different browsers. Basically if you're on Windows and using Internet Explorer you need at least IE9. Since IE9 isn't an option on XP, if you're on XP you need to use something like Firefox or Chrome. But you should know that already - lots of sites suck on XP, some SSL certificates won't work, etc. So, to the 2.42% of you who use IE7 - use a different browser. I mean, hell, it's 2014 already. To the 5.82% of you who use IE8 - it'll work (more or less), but you'd be much happier on a different browser. You're the guys who are seeing a really bright interface, etc. Yes, I know we're talking about 8.5% of the visitors to the site, and that's a substantial number, but I just don't have the time to debug a different skin for you guys. All you guys have to do is fire up Firefox or Chrome and your problems with this site (and many other sites) is solved. That's a much better solution than me spending hours to make changes to support browsers that fewer and fewer people use.

What platform are you on (Operating System + Browser)? There are no small scroll boxes anywhere on any of the devices I've tested. The subscription mechanism is something I'm still debugging. -
I've discovered a problem with Google Analytics on Internet Explorer and could really use the help of a Windows-based web developer. My Windows machines are archaic and I don't even connect them to the Internet. (They're just for accounting and viewing .avi files with weird codecs). The "newer" one is running IE7. Anyway, Google Analytics seems to be unable to track users between hits. It creates one or more new sessions for every page hit. Needless to say that's really messing with my analytics. I'm wondering if IE has a problem saving cookies for .zone domains. If that's the case then the problems may be bigger than Google Analytics and may explain why some people say the site is difficult to use. Anyway, if you're a Windows-based developer, any info you can give me on whether Breeding.Zone cookies are getting stored propeerly, Javascript errors, etc. on IE would be hugely appreciated. Also, differences between the UX for IE and Chrome/Firefox would be helpful. I'll be more than happy to send you some free Breeding Zone / rawTOP / Raunchy Fuckers t-shirts, etc. in exchange for your help.

What Do You Think Of The New Version Of Breeding Zone?
rawTOP replied to rawTOP's topic in General Discussion
A number of you have said "it's hard to navigate" but no one has detailed what you mean by it or even mentioned what platform you're on. If that's your issue, then you need to explain what you mean by it. Navigation has been simplified not made more complex. IMHO, it's actually easier to get around this site than the old one. I can do nothing for you unless you're specific. -

Supported? Not exactly. Will it work? Probably. Forum Runner does work with IP.Board-based forums. I've installed the necessary files (just now) and managed to bring down the site for a bit in the process (it was a bit disconcerting). I've also jumped through the hoops Forum Runner says to jump through in terms of registering the site with them. But I haven't tested it – I'll leave that to you. Let me know how it goes. Unfortunately the Kindle appears to be 1/4 of 1% of visits to my sites. Hence, it's not a supported platform. Please use something else to access the site. -
At the top of every page you'll see your user name up near the right corner. Click that. Then click on "My Settings". Then choose "Email & Password" from the sidebar. The rest should be self-explanatory. Basically, if it has to do with your account, you'll change it in "My Settings".

At the bottom of the page next to the big RSS logo there's a link "Mark Community Read" - that should do what you're looking for. -

If you saw it, THAT would be the problem. As I stated above, it's been disabled. -

I've mentioned a few times that groups are an outstanding issue. Honestly I'm frustrated and not sure I can get groups working again - at least not as well as they were before. I don't think so, unfortunately. But I'm looking into an add-on that would do this - so hopefully soon. -

It depends on both the height and width of your browser window in pixels (not inches). If you have a lot of toolbars installed that could affect it, etc. If you see the big pic at the top then you'll see three icons. I was going to upload a pic to show what I'm talking about, but wasn't able to. Add that to the list of things to fix BTW, I've been browing the site more as a user today - doing moderation and stuff. My frantic bug fixing is mostly over. I'm still seeing things and fixing them, and there are some big ticket items I'm still working on, but overall things are calming down for me. Anyway, I gotta say the experience was pretty good, IMHO. A few things irritated me and I'll address them, but it definitely wasn't horrible IMHO. -
How many "neg+PrEP" liars do you think are there out there?
rawTOP replied to rawfuckr's topic in PrEP Discussion
A good friend of mine told me the other day that he tells guys he's on PrEP when he's actually undetectable poz. I guess that's about the same difference risk-wise. But I'm guessing that might explain the sudden surge of guys saying they're on PrEP… -
how do i tell if my cumdump listing is up?
rawTOP replied to f4wdriver's topic in General Discussion
This site has no cumdump listings other than the thread where cumdumps list their contact details. I'm working on CumdumpNetwork.com - but it's not ready yet. -
I did at first. Now I dont' mention my HIV status at all. HIV statuses are now irrelevant to me. I don't want to have guys think about HIV when they think of hooking up with me. Just fuck and have fun.

Correct for small screens. There are three icons on larger screens. The additional icon lets you choose between 7 different pictures for the big pic at the top. -
What Do You Think Of The New Version Of Breeding Zone?

Yeah, I think a lot of people are in that boat. I know I've been like that with other stuff. I hated the design of the car I own right now when it first came out. But it grew on me quickly it I'm still happy with it because after 7 years owning the car the design of it still seems "current". You should have seen it before I made it dark. lol That feature is there, and it works even better than it used to… At the bottom of every thread page is a link for "Next Unread Topic". Click it and you'll go to the next unread post in the forum section, and it will jump you to where you left off reading the thread. The last version just took you to the beginnging of the next thread - even if you had read it previously. The only caveat is the new system doesn't know what you read on the old system. That feature is there and it works. Hover over a user name and after a couple seconds a box will appear with a summary of their details. Click the "View Content" button. That option should also be available if you go to their full profile. -

There's a "hamburger" (three thick lines stacked) to the right of the logo in the header. That's the universal symbol for mobile menu. Click it and you'll see the navigation. You don't need to go to the bottom. The CD/Tranny forum has always been publicly visible. Asked and answered a few times… The feature is not working as it should and I'll be putting in a support ticket with the software vendor to see if I can get it working. -

Ah, now that I understand the nature of what you're looking for and how it's different than what's here, I'll look for a solution. Personally I always hated the "activity" page and preferred the "new posts" page. I should also mention - to those of you who are now saying you don't like the new version - you totally had a chance to give feedback before it launched. I'm not blaming anyone - just saying some stuff could have been avoided. So now I'll compensate after the fact… -
The New Chat Feature Does Not Work On Firefox & Chrome
rawTOP replied to rawTOP's topic in Tips, Tricks, Rules & Help
Needless to say, that's not a workable solution - people just won't figure out what you did and will think it won't work. But beyond that, the types of things you guys chat about needs encryption and encryption isn't an option on that particular chat platform until next year sometime. You must be using an old version. Or maybe things are different on PCs. It didn't work for me on the latest version on the Mac. Firefox is my primary browser. Though I keep 3 browsers open at all times for work purposes - and wish there were 4 or 5 I could have open. Or I wish I could have different logins to the same site in different tabs - but that's just not an option AFAIK. -

I'm aware of this. I have an iPhone and an iPad and have seen some problems, but I've been concentrating on the desktop version first. I'll get to the iOS stuff this week. I did get to one iPhone problem today - the logo wasn't displaying. Now it is I'll look into that.
