Agreed. Technically it's possible with the platform that RTV is on, it's just not being done. The streaming only issue was a response to piracy. It's so hard to protect content these days. First there was DRM, but users hated it, so some producers went to no downloads. Then about the only thing a producer could do is watermark EVERYTHING that went out their door with a visible watermark (including DVDs). At least then if a video "got out into the wild", it could be advertising for the site and easily identified for DMCA. BUT almost no one did that – customers were paying too much for DVDs and would have complained loudly. But meanwhile a huge industry of illegal tube sites was born and they had so much traffic they more or less took over the online porn business. But even with streaming only there was a loophole – iOS devices, and most Andriod systems don't support Flash, and the protections that came with streaming only came with streaming via Flash. Even that could be defeated with video screen capture, but mobile and tablet destroyed even that level of minimal protection. Only now that Apple's HLS has matured and gained acceptance is there a streaming format that is supported on mobile and somewhat safe from piracy (for now). The company that runs rawTOP.tv just came up with technology that can track who downloaded a video via a durable, invisible watermark in the video. And if you read the terms of service closely for RTV and the other sites that company runs, you agree to pay something like $200 for every video that you download that gets out into the wild. But you gotta realize – before they came up with durable invisible watermarking – that clause was impossible to enforce. Now it's not and it's starting to really help. So don't be mad at producers for doing streaming only. They're literally doing mortal combat with forces that could put them out of business. They have to do something. Those downloads you love are one of the primary vehicles pirates used to steal videos.

I found one other package for video chat, but in multiple places on their site they didn't spell the name of my media server correctly, and they refuse to do refunds if you have problems with the software, and their online reviews are HORRIBLE. So… I'm officially giving up on video chat for now. I'm just going to do textual chat. I've found an open-source, mobile friendly solution (based on AJAX, not Flash) which I need to tweak to make it better on small screens (I'll make the page layout responsive). I'm going to put the chat on bbbh.com (the hookup site I'm developing), not here on Breeding Zone, though it will look up your username here to verify your access. There's a huge overlap between the two sites, so there's no point having two chat solutions when it's basically the same group of people. It's going on there instead of here since it'll actually be one chat solution for a whole network of hookup sites (plus Breeding Zone). I'll leave this post up since I'm curious what you guys want when it comes to chat. If you guys really want video chat I'll keep that in mind and maybe in a year or so I'll find and implement a video/cam solution. In the meantime the hookup sites are my priority.

Why not copy the files off your old computer? Don't tell me you didn't copy your files. I mean it wasn't just porn on there (presumably). I'm locking the thread. It sounds like the purpose of it is to illegally download full-length porn videos.

If you have any interested what I've been hoping for (for years) is a proper review section here on Breeding Zone. So one thread per site, with your guys thoughts on the site. But I need a moderator to manage the section since for that section it would help if only moderators started threads. BTW, the $14.95 price for DVDs may be ending soon, though I'm trying to preserve it for older titles. Some of the producers figured out that that price was less than it was on their own sites and they weren't very happy. It's all legit - it was authorized and implemented by the person who runs the sites for producers - it's just my everyday price was their promotional price. I believe in the iTunes approach to porn - make it cheap and people will pay for porn. Honestly, I wish there was per scene pricing, but that's not possible with the current platform. So if you like the $14.95 downloads - do the ones that are important to you before the price goes up.

Try turning your phone/tablet to landscape mode and see if the increase width gives you some of what you feel you're missing. Some stuff is just hidden on small/narrow screens.

The last few weeks I've been focused on development tasks for the hookup sites I want to get up and running. That means I've really neglected Breeding Zone. I've come to the realization that I could use some help running the site. Are there any of you who want to be a moderator? It would involve giving infractions when people do stuff they shouldn't, moving threads that get posted in the wrong place, etc. If you're technical, there are other tasks you can do as well (if you feel like it). If you're interested, let me know. You should be active on here and fairly well known. It's not a paid position, but I'll gladly send you free t-shirts and other promo sort of stuff. And when my hookup sites get up and running I'll give you free, premium memberships to them (for life - if you stick with the moderation for a year or two and do a decent job of it). My most recent attempt to get chat working has failed. Since I'm back to the drawing board trying to figure out what chat package to use, I could use a little guidance… In particular I'm wondering how big of a deal video chat is to you guys. It basically turns it from just chat to full-on cams. I would think that would be a huge plus, yet when I had it a few years ago most people never turned on their cams - they just stuck with text chat. One complication is encryption. It's easier to encrypt text than it is live video. If I have video chat, how much should I fight to make sure the video is encrypted? Anyway, give me some feedback on those things as well as anything else that's important to you when it comes to chat.

Well, the software package I tried to use had problems when my host tried to install it. It utilizes the streaming server that I also use for my tube site (Raunchy Fuckers) and preview videos on my blogs and when the software was installed it basically broke the streaming server. The host tried 3 or 4 times. Then the developer was contacted but there were problems with him and things ended badly. So I'm now considering other options. I'm going to start another thread to figure out how much you guys really want video chat (aka 'cams'). I'm closing this thread. New discussion can go in the other thread.

Forum Runner refused to install inself correctly on the new site. I've tried once again to reinstall it but keep getting errors. So I'm officially abandoning it. I'm working on getting chat/cams (re) set up for you guys. Won't bore you with the details, but (knock wood) it should be up and running before the end of the week. If you've been on this site a few years now - it's the same chat we had back a few years. It wasn't very stable back then. Hopefully the new version will work better than the old one. It will be video chat - so both text chat and video will be possible. One person can be on video and the other one just on text chat. So if you want guys to watch you get fucked - just set up a cam and invite someone over to fuck you... The chat will have different "rooms" - so the more extreme conversations should take place in "the backroom". Private chatting and invite only rooms will be possible. Video chat is basically cams - only there won't be any charge to use video chat here. However, I can't promise that it will always stay free. I gotta see what it does to my bandwidth usage. If the bandwidth goes way up and revenue doesn't go up with it, then I may have to start restricting it or lowering the bitrate, etc. But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I'm not quite sure how mobile devices and tablets will be supported. We'll have to see. The software is supposed to support them, but I don't understand how that works, so I'm suspicious of that claim. We'll see...
