I did some more reading... The issue is that as soon as you connect a bank account or credit card to a bitcoin account you're no longer anonymous. So I could set up something that only received bitcoins and I could be anonymous, but the people giving me bitcoins wouldn't be anonymous unless they were giving from unconnected accounts. So it seems bitcoins aren't so much about anonymity. What they are useful for is things that are legal, but not Visa-approved - e.g. membership upgrades for this site, and borderline "obscene" porn. My goal is to run sites that are fully-functional in a free mode, so if a die-hard fan really wanted the upgraded membership then they probably would jump through a few hoops. But I have to devise something compelling for them. Thoughts on that?

I've been thinking a bit about bitcoins. If you've never heard of them they're a digital currency that you buy/sell with real money but all transactions with bitcoins completely private and outside the prying eyes of Visa, etc. Basically it's the digital equivalent of cash - untraceable. Anyway, they're finally starting to mature and the tools to use them are starting to get to the point of being usable - so it seems like a decent time to sit down and think about how I might use them. For starters they can be used along side credit cards - so I can try to get my friend to support them on rawTOP.tv and when I finally get around to selling physical products like t-shirts and lube they can be used along side credit cards there too. What they're ideal for is selling things that are legal, but not OK with Visa. Visa can be really difficult with stuff like piss, scat, simulated rape, "race play", etc. Thing is, given Visa's rules, there's not much content like that out there. But it could be safely added to something like rawTOP.tv and only available to members who pay by bitcoin. But again, the issue is where do you get the content? People just haven't been producing it because it hasn't been salable. Bitcoin is also perfect for things related to sites like this one. This site would NEVER pass review by Visa because it has user-generated content. That's completely legal, but not something Visa would touch. So some sort of premium membership would be possible here - but what would that entail? I'm a little hard-pressed to think of things that people would want to buy. I could change the label under your name ("virgin", "curious", etc.) to something of your choosing. I could offer ads-free browsing - but would anyone pay for that? So help me brainstorm - what would you guys pay for that I don't currently offer? And remember the entry point into bitcoins is a little high right now - you have to do things like confirm a bank account. But once you do that everything is anonymous. But that could be a real barrier to entry - so the things to pay for need to be worth all that trouble.

I've been fantasizing lately about alternate social structures that are based around gay sex. Even wrote up a whole "future world history" then realized it was just a framework - it wasn't a sex story, so never posted it in the stories section here. And in a similar vein I've been fantasizing about sex ed courses with lab sessions where younger students are randomly paired up with an older students (lab partner changes each day) and students get extra credit for being the bottom in class gangbangs, etc. Of course in my fantasy none of those things are illegal - it's all very normal, natural and accepted.

Have you checked out the latest version of FCP and what people are saying about it? People hate it. Not sure why Apple is fucking up so many of the video products for OS X... If you're doing under $200 - do SD with a shoe on top that you can plug a light into. There should be some great, lightly used SD cameras out there.

Yes, they can be deleted. No, I don't have the time for it. And lastly (as explained very early on in this thread), it hurts the quality of the board since the user names turn to something like "Deleted User" - so you can't understand the flow of the conversation since you may have multiple deleted users talking back and forth and won't be able to tell who's saying what. What I may do in the future is batch delete users who haven't ever posted anything and haven't logged in in 12-18 months. The purpose there would be to make their profile names available to active members. But again, gotta look into what that'll take - and right now I don't have the time.

The better the camera, the better it will do with natural light. But one way or the other always have the light source (e.g. the window) behind the camera. So many people shoot with a window behind the action - that will always result in a bad video. You might want to think about shooting in SD. You can probably find a really good SD camera that does well in low-light that's inexpensive. My other thought is that Apple removed support for HD video from iMovie. You may be able to import it, but I don't think you can export to HD. I've been trying to work with Adobe Premiere Elements (the cheap version of Premiere) and I sorta hate it - it's too dumbed down. And lastly, if you get sorta good at it, I might be interested in buying the videos off you, but you'll need proper documentation (consent + ID).

And actually, if the site you gave money to is reputable, I may have a relationship with the sponsor and may be able to get some or all of your money back (some = minus transaction fees). What I'll need is the full URL that he told you to go to. It will have his affiliate code embedded in it that will identify who he is. All of the **datelink.com sites are the same sponsor. The guy is getting $50 every time you signup. It's not in the best interest of the sponsor, so they may be willing to terminate his account since if they're paying him $50 and you're paying out $30 then it's a bad deal for them. Unfortunately, I don't have a track record with that sponsor, but I'll try In the meantime consider anyone like this a scam - he's scamming you and the site owner.

There is nothing personally identifiable in your profile. You do have a picture album, but that's something you can delete if you want to and the pictures are only visible to logged in members.
