The unresponsiveness is also what bothers me. Unfortunately there is a lot of truth in there. I'm out in the closer part of the suburbs, about 12-13 miles from the heart of downtown. When I moved here 21 years ago it was reasonably affordable, but considered "way out there". Now the burbs go another 20 miles out from where I am and the assessed value of my house is over 3x what it was when it was built 21 years ago. The problem being that my property taxes have also tripled. I make a decent amount of money but still living paycheck to paycheck due to the crazy inflation and stupidly high gas prices we've seen the past 2 years. I find the fact that sniffies doesn't go out far enough to be inconvenient because I don't mind traveling up to 15-20 miles even though traffic in Austin has gotten ridiculous.
