This really speaks to me. AIDS also made me afraid of gay sex (of being my true self), and I’m not sure I’ve ever 100% recovered. I came to age in the early 1980’s right at the start of the AIDS epidemic. Right at the age when people typically start to sow their sexual oats I was terrified of doing so.
