The weather is beautiful, summers are not any hotter than the northeast. In fact it seldom gets to 100°F, most summers it won't at all, and in the summer the nude beach is beautiful and the water is nice and warm. Rents are also much cheaper here than in other gay areas such as NY, LA or San Fran. Most people you ask, especially the gays grew up in other parts of the country. It also doesn't feel like you are in the deep south when you are here. Love it, but we need more tops.

I have to say I think Washington, DC is that place. I was looking on BBRT the other day at the DC guys, since I only live a few hours drive from there and there were tons of tops/vers tops on in DC. I think all the tops are migrating to DC for some reason.

Ft Lauderdale is a nice city for gays, but it has a small gay retirement town kind of feel. Slammers is like their rec room. Its nice to visit, but I would prefer the major gay metros like New York, San Francisco, Atlanta and Los Angeles to make a living.
