Why Flash and not HTML5 ? Flash is a major pain in the ass, isn't it finally time to abandon it now there's a better alternative?

Because HTML5 players suck and streaming is pretty much impossible. Simply put, Flash works, and HTML5 isn't nearly as good.

That said, if you look at the site on an iOS device it should degrade properly and still work - though that's something I still need to do final testing on...
