hungry_hole Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 It's all over the Internet. The government of Iceland is working on a law to ban online porn. First if all, how will they accomplish this? Then, what is porn and what's not porn. Really stupid idea, in my opinion. Because the Internet and Porn are one and the same. Remember the days of Usenet and the Group Alt.sex? Thousands of messages daily
Rawmanfinland Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 Crazy shit i say. Even tough i tought that porn is already banned in Iceland. Its hard to believe that there are still countries in western world that restricts freedom of speech in this way.
cuntspunker Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 If they somehow manage to do it, there will be so many frustrated people who will simply seek other ways to unleash their sexual tension
Guest JizzDumpWI Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 Technology is there. There are devices I buy for my data center that evaluate web traffic and blocks sites (like this one) from that network. So it CAN be done. Not perfectly, but doable.
DarkroomTaker Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 Ahh, not the supermarket then?
Guest JizzDumpWI Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 Troubliing I agree though that a nation would seek to lock down internet sites for their citizens. Company networks? Sure, makes sense. But to have OTHERS define acceptable viewing for us is, IMO, a problem. Still, unless we're citizens of Iceland, we really don't have a voice in this...
Bttm2go Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 There will be riots in the streets...lol
BBCumPigGA Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 It's part of their "cultural conservation" laws, if I'm not mistaken. Similar to how children's names have to be approved by the government, etc. Currently, only traditional hard media (no pun intended) pornography is banned in Iceland. This bill is to close the internet loophole. As previously mentioned, the technology used is guessed to be much like what China, Iran, and other countries use to censor the internet available within their borders. One thing's for sure, it's off my list of countries I'd move to if I left the United States!
klakkur Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Ve hawe stupit parliament here in Iceland and ve ar on the same course as north Korea I hope the government fall soon
pozithiv666 Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 I am surprised. I thought that Iceland was one of the most liberal countries in the world. I had friend visit there recently. Very few go to church there. So how did they come to this ?
buzztham Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 they don't want the kids looking at online porn but it has to start with the parents knowing what there kids are doing on the internet
