List your qualifications here if you'd be considered an "expert" on sexual health

For a while now Google has judged sites on the question "Would you trust this site with your life or your money?" And based on recent changes to the guidelines they've given their site reviewers, questions like that are becoming an even bigger factor in how they rank websites. (Yes, Google manually reviews sites).

So I figured I'd create a thread that will be stickied in the root of the Sexual Health section where people can state ways in which they'd be considered an expert on sexual health. While this is inspired by Google's guidelines it will also be useful to average visitors who come to the site. A lot of you have backgrounds in public health, counseling, and medical care. So I'd like to show off your credentials by formally listing them.

This thread is only for listing credentials, not discussing them. So don't post replies.

But if you have credentials that would make you something of an expert in some aspect of sexual health, and you contribute to the sexual health discussions on this site - please take the time to list them. Examples would be:

  • Licensed doctors, nurses and counselors/therapists who have experience with sexual health issues.
  • People with degrees in public health.
  • People who've been formally trained to work hotlines that dealt with sexual health issues.
  • People who have leadership roles in community organizations that deal with sexual health.
  • Researchers who work on projects related to HIV/AIDS or other sexual health issues.

You don't have to be too detailed - feel free to keep your identity private. Things like "Licensed physician in a mid-western state", or "Sexual Health Policy Coordinator for a community organization with 2,000 active clients" are completely sufficient.

I'm a registered nurse with almost ten years of ambulatory care (clinic) experience, with additional training in HIV/STD prevention and treatment and also a past stint working in HIV clinical research - which I don't actively do anymore but still keep up with the latest in the field.

At this point I am eligible for ACRN (AIDS/HIV Care Registered Nursing) certification, but have not yet sat for the exam.

Doctorate degree in the medical field and years of heavy sexual experience from vanilla to kink (fisting, huge toys, sounds, including ongoing experience in adult film and past experience in escortt work. I also present a seminar called "The Responsible and Actualized Slut," which delves into both the practical issues (testing, personal safety, etc.) and cultural issues (pre Xian and post Xian views of sex and the lingering Christian negative view of sexuality that wrongly influences social and medical science). I have presented it at CLAW and to the League of Atlanta Pups. It will be presented at Fist Fest in October 2022 as well.

I would like to add a cautionary note to this thread for the benefit of site members who may be looking for medical information in relation to concerns about their own personal condition.

Although a member may be qualified or credentialed in a given medical discipline, that person cannot, and ethically should not, attempt to counsel you in an individual way that implies a diagnosis or recommended treatment. That person has not examined you, is not privy to your medical record or case history, and thus any expertise he may have is only applicable in general terms. It would be irresponsible for someone claiming to have a medical credential to, for example, read what you describe as symptoms and reply, “You’ve got gonorrhea.” There is no way he could know that for certain, yet your knowledge of his qualification might influence the way you approach your healthcare in the situation.

To those who would answer this topic with their qualifications, I would caution you to be wary not to encourage personal correspondence with other members for purposes of individual consultation - you don’t want to hang out a shingle here and find yourself being hit up for free medical advice. Word gets around.

I moderate a mental health support site, and on that site we actually prohibit members from mentioning their professional qualifications in the field for both of these reasons.
