Have You Guys Checked Out Rawtop.tv To Buy Bb Porn?

Just wanted to share this with the community (even though it has been said here before).
If you register on RawTop.tv you get to see more content than when you are not registered. The great thing (at least for someone like me) is that you can download all the films for $14.95 only.

I prefer digital videos to DVDs anyway. I watch porn on my computer and having a digital copy is much handier than having to deal with a disc.
You will find the whole catalogue of Dark Alley Media for example on there as well as other well known bb porn studios. So maybe give it a try if you prefer digital downloads too.

I haven't because I am confused by the Join free. Buy minutes ($.15/min) and downloads ($14.95) a la carte. Pricing description so I join for free but it looks to me like I pay $14.95 for the right to download but to watch online without downloading I have to pay per minute? And it looks like the next step from that page is to actually charge my card so I just abandoned have never bothered to finish joining.  I like to stream a video online and see if the whole thing is any good before I download.  So payiNG 15 cents a minute adds up quick unless I am not understanding how it works.

I was a bit suspicious too in the beginning until Rawtop assured that when I register and add my credit card information, I am not being charged. And I wasn't.

I registered a couple of months ago and bought my first movie yesterday. I did not need to add my credit card info then because I had added it when I registered. So registering simply enables you to view all the content that is available, including some TIM movies (older ones) for $14.95 too.

BTW, the $14.95 price for DVDs may be ending soon, though I'm trying to preserve it for older titles. Some of the producers figured out that that price was less than it was on their own sites and they weren't very happy. It's all legit - it was authorized and implemented by the person who runs the sites for producers - it's just my everyday price was their promotional price. I believe in the iTunes approach to porn - make it cheap and people will pay for porn. Honestly, I wish there was per scene pricing, but that's not possible with the current platform.

So if you like the $14.95 downloads - do the ones that are important to you before the price goes up.

When will the studios ever learn and offer downloads per scene. I am more than willing to pay $5 - $10 for a scene that I am interested in (although $10 is already a bit steep, would have to be a really good scene then).

There are still many studios/sites such as RawStrokes, EricVideos,TIMFuck that only offer streaming videos. When will they learn they will not get any money from people like me? I don't subscribe to streaming sites because it's a huge hassle. The videos need to load first, the quality often isn't very good or it takes too long to load. I cannot use my remote control and fast forwarding is a bitch too.

Maybe they will soon learn?

Maybe someone (Rawtop ?) will create a platform which sells individual download scenes for these studios too?

Agreed. Technically it's possible with the platform that RTV is on, it's just not being done.

The streaming only issue was a response to piracy. It's so hard to protect content these days. First there was DRM, but users hated it, so some producers went to no downloads. Then about the only thing a producer could do is watermark EVERYTHING that went out their door with a visible watermark (including DVDs). At least then if a video "got out into the wild", it could be advertising for the site and easily identified for DMCA. BUT almost no one did that – customers were paying too much for DVDs and would have complained loudly. But meanwhile a huge industry of illegal tube sites was born and they had so much traffic they more or less took over the online porn business.

But even with streaming only there was a loophole – iOS devices, and most Andriod systems don't support Flash, and the protections that came with streaming only came with streaming via Flash. Even that could be defeated with video screen capture, but mobile and tablet destroyed even that level of minimal protection. Only now that Apple's HLS has matured and gained acceptance is there a streaming format that is supported on mobile and somewhat safe from piracy (for now).

The company that runs rawTOP.tv just came up with technology that can track who downloaded a video via a durable, invisible watermark in the video. And if you read the terms of service closely for RTV and the other sites that company runs, you agree to pay something like $200 for every video that you download that gets out into the wild. But you gotta realize – before they came up with durable invisible watermarking – that clause was impossible to enforce. Now it's not and it's starting to really help.

So don't be mad at producers for doing streaming only. They're literally doing mortal combat with forces that could put them out of business. They have to do something. Those downloads you love are one of the primary vehicles pirates used to steal videos.

The music industry had a similar problem but they reacted differently.

Had they reacted the way the porn industry did, then you would only be able to get music these days on CD. And all of the internet platforms such as Amazon and iTunes would stream music. You would not be able to download the music.

Could you imagine that? The music industry would have gone downhill if they had opted to do that.

And that is what most porn industry studios have done.

As you see, there is still piracy going on. But why should you punish customers who are willing to pay with streaming only?

I remember having the DRM I would buy or rent clips from AEBN and each time I wanted to watch it would have to verify the DRM and sometimes there were issues with that, plus it seemed to take forever.

Not everyone is so demanding when it comes to downloads.  Yeah they are nice but the tradeoff is usually a higher price since your buying it not renting and after a while when you have so many downloads how often do you really find yourself going back and viewing it?  I used to have hundreds of CD's that gathered dust, I have hundreds of porn clips that I never view cause they are out of sign out of mind.  Also had an external 500GB hard drive with tons of porn on it go bad loosing all that content so i am really not that wed to a site must offer downloads before I will join.

This is an old topic, but you've probably got notifications enabled anyways rawTOP...

I was a bit sceptical when you first started the .tv site, because it looked as if you were trying to take a humble blog in a more commercial direction. I have to say that I've bought quite a lot since then, and the $14.95 is the deal-maker for me. Why buy from the studios direct when you can still get it legally for almost half the price?.. I do notice that there's sometimes a tradeoff in quality though - Dark Alley for example are almost if not always in SD, whereas I get a 1080p file if I buy through them direct. It could just be an issue with older titles.. I've never really bothered to check...

I tend to buy whole releases.. TIM offer per scene downloads after 6 months, but if you end up buying all the scenes anyway (staggered over time), it's prohibitively more expensive. I also find scenes I dismiss at first glance to have some of the hotter/raunchier action once I've given them a chance. I buy music the same way (albums over singles).. maybe it's just my preference though.

With all that said, I think you're at the forefront of the future. Studios will have to give in at some point, and I don't think $15 for a 90 mins release is too unreasonable. They could even jack the price to $20 or $25 for the first few months after release, and I'd still buy it. But with companies like TIM trying to swindle $50 or thereabouts (DVDs are also sometimes cheaper than downloads!).. they're going to lose. Plain and simple, they don't understand their consumers and a new technological future. They'll get desperate, and they'll either adapt or they'll burn.

This just caught my attention because when I last subscribed to Dark Alley, they didn't have any download options...it was all streaming only by monthly subscribtion and I went through their library in a month or so.

So I gave this a closer look because when it was first announced, for some reason I just thought it was some customized version of AEBN.net.

Then when I registered I realized it's a totally different entity. However, after a quick moment of thinking, I now have second thoughts because although the download for 14.95 option sounds awesome, if it's a one time only to only one device, I'm not interested at all because I have too many computers/devices/whatever and I no longer do downloads of anysort unless it's some sort of necessary application.

For everythign else, I will only do streaming.

That said, the streaming tiers don't really make sense to me, at least not as clear as AEBN.net which uses a straight forward linear progression with parallel increase in savings proportional to the block of time purchased.

First, the ala carte option is only one rate, but it's also the only option if you wanted to go above 500 minutes...I think, this isn't really clear to me...

Second, I get that from Plan 100 to Plan 250, there is a 200% price increase with 250% increase in time, and from Plan 250 to Pla 500, there is a 150% price increase with a 200% increase in time...which I might just be tired but right now, I'm not really sure how I would definitively decide which is the better value.

Usually, as you pay more, you get the greater value...but not always and this is one of those rare cases where I can't just do quantity/unit cost comparison, so I'm puzzled...going from Plan 100 to Plan 250 is a bigger jump in cost than going from Plan 250 to Plan 500, however you get the bigger increase in time going from Plan 100 to Plan 250,not from Plan 250 to Plan 500...

...so overall, I'm kind of like, "Well, I don't think I want to deal with subscribtion as I'd probably chew through the entire library in a couple of months depending on the rate/time/plan I do. Also, unless download is a smart download that allows multiple downloads limited by restricted number of playback devices, that's any even worse option for me because I'll buy shit, put on one computer and then be on another one, forget which one has what, throw away or erase and forget to backup, and overall just be pissed off."

I looked through the documentation available on the site, but it was very limited and nothing addressed the matter of how the downloads are regulated. I sent a Help query, and wait to here more.

But right now, this is kind of too confusing plus a little of a pain in the ass because I have to figure out do I want to go ala carte or Plan 100/250/500 which none of them make sense in terms of added value to price increase, and finally, I need more information regarding the downloads.

Update:

I was told that the downloads are DRM free and your personal library keeps a record of your purchases which you can download repeatedly to unlimited devices.

So now I'm excited again for the download option and just need to figure out what videos I want.

Yay!
