BBRT is very active in New Orleans, esp. during special events/holidays. There is no mandatory closing time for bars in New Orleans so expect the action to pick up around midnight and later. The Eagle--located upstairs at the Phoenix is closed on Monday's and opens at 9PM, Tues. thru Sat. The Phoenix/Eagle is located just outside the French Quarter and is not within walking distance (safe or otherwise) from the French Quarter. Catch a ride or cab. There are other gay and gay friendly bars in the French Quarter; however, at the Phoenix/Eagle and Rawhide 2010 you can pretty much get as piggy, raunchy or kinky as you like. Have fun.
