Living in Montreal, the films I enjoyed were

C.R.A.Z.Y.

Being at Home With Claude

J’ai tué ma mère

Laurence Anyways

There’s Philadelphia with Tom Hanks

As for series, there’s

Noah’s Arc

Queer as Fuck (British version)

Vicious

the L Word

You forgot another Montreal-based movie (comedy) that featured great actors like Ginette Reno and Paul Sorbino - Mambo Italiano. “No son  of mine is an omosessuale!”

Toch Song Trilogy with Mathew Broderick, at that period it was such as funny film

Also, heartbreaking and tragic in parts. I don't want anyone to go into TST with the wrong impression.

And Red White and Royal Blue has the single funniest coming out scene ever when the president's campaign manager discovers the truth. The actress who played her absolutely nailed it, right down to the belated curtsey and "your royal highness" after chewing out the british prince moments before.

Yeah, great scene.  I loved that the only thing that Henry managed to say during her "rant" was his response to her calling him the heir to the throne:  "Technically, I'm the spare."  Actually, Henry had some of the best one-liners in the movie.

Movies:  Redwoods -- the ending reduced me to tears

The Bubble (2006 film) -- described as a romantic drama, the ending is shocking.  Not a date movie!  It'll definitely kill the mood.

I was very lucky that I got to see the final performance of TST on Broadway that had Harvey in it. It was magnificent. 🙂

I can't believe no one mentioned Cruising with Al Pacino. A very controversial film at the time and a crime/thriller. Definitely some graphic scenes in there but the leather/sex aspect was pretty incredible. And of course cruising. The amount of content they showed in the gay leather bar was kinda insane. I think there was some original controversy of some of the footage being lost too. It got re-released on 4K recently but great gay film to own especially with the leather aspect. I am uncertain if all the cut content is on the new release but watching it recently they showed quite a bit.

The normal heart is kinda interesting too focuses on HIV crisis and has some well known actors like Mark Rufallo and Jim Parsons. Also similar but came out way before was And The Band Played on based on the book by Randy Shilts. It's more of a documentary type kinda more of perspective on the doctors and companies but I still really liked it.

I saw it years ago but Bear City 1 was pretty enjoyable might not have been the best movie but it was fun. Another Gay Movie was also pretty fun. The sequel was kinda just okay though. Can't think of any more of the top of my head unless it involves some subtleness with gay which is kinda more common in movies even newer-ish ones.

Did love Queer as Folk as well both the UK Version and the American Version. Did not fully get into Looking but I should watch that I heard it was pretty enjoyable. Oh shit almost forgot Dallas Buyers Club with Matthew McConaughey. I enjoyed that one as well also another great movie relating to HIV.
