Bottoms outnumbering tops

As for bottoms being perceived as having less sexual market value than tops, perhaps, sometimes, especially in a setting where they outnumber tops. But send some sexy young twink acting guy into your average gay venue and I guarantee he will be the center of attention. Every top in the place and half the bottoms will be hitting on him. The only looking down on him I want to do is with him writhing and moaning in bliss as we fuck.

I personally like most bottoms. They are usually a hotter piece of ass than most women and when you are through breeding them they turn back into a guy and you can discuss things like sports, fishing, cars, motorcycles, and such, and you don't have to pretend to like some sappy saccharine female pop singer. Just share a beer and BS with each other until you once again start to notice that he has a nice bottom that you would like to dump another load into.

How can anyone have great sex unless tops breed btms?

Excellent question, but they seem to think they can have really great sex without using a cock. I would classify themm as either asexual or functionally lesbian.

You could be right.  I aint had sex unless I breed or get bred in my mind.

I was at my favorite spot in NYC one day and we had that problem. Mostly bottoms and few tops. Then this young kid walks in (I swear he could not be more than 16) and all of a sudden he was getting fucked. Guys were lining up for him.

Could this be the secret? Just be young or young looking? Brought me back to when I started cruising at 16. I was always the center of attraction.

Yeah, I kind of agree with that- it’s all part of the “bottoms are worthless trash, whereas tops are special” kind of narrative that I’ve never bought into.

In my experience there’s a pretty even balance- sure, clubs can get bottom-heavy towards the end of the night when all the tops have shot their wads and gone home, but to counter that, there are often more tops than bottoms in more natural settings such as cruising grounds.

Thanks for sharing this. I have also found this to be true.

Here’s the thing- go on any app and say you’re a total top and i can guarantee you that you’ll be receiving a flood of messages from hungry bottoms, vers guys and the guys who claim top but are actually vers they just dont broadcast it. Sometimes there’s a reputation to protect, sometimes it’s just a personal preference, but the truth is that the number of “golden unicorns” - i.e., tops who have never bottomed nor want to- is minuscule compared to the number of guys who are somewhat flexible and can play either role comfortably.

The openly total bottoms are the ones who are shamed and judged for the abandonment of their masculinity, which is highly valued in the scene. but when you have a sausage party full of tops or vers guys trying to present as top or at least as not hungry, the bottoms will be appreciated and obviously the night belongs to them.

the funny part to me is how many so called tops are quick to throw those legs in the air when they’re behind closed doors while they tell you they hate when bottoms call it their “pussy” - like the “I want a man” thing is a spectrum for all of us but it’s so hypocritical and fake that it makes me laugh.

Every other photo on here is a close up of an ass hole, it would not be out of the realm of possibility for people to get the notion that there are more subs than doms  (bottoms than tops)  haha   Its cool though, live your life, but keep it real. #Versatile

Perhaps also related to the number of guys here who lean more in the freak direction than most so more likely to be into piggy scenes and bottoming more. Those total top guys who are basically at least playing straight or are “straight acting” are probably not coming here to discuss their sexual endeavors in the way that many of us do here.

It’s an interesting topic that I’ve been fascinated with for most of my life- I played both sides and now understand that I’m supposed to be a submissive bottom who sucks and takes dick from masculine black and Latino kings and that’s my role. I’m extremely satisfied and don’t feel like I’m supposed to be anything else. I’m not hung up on any of the typical insecurities or an inferiority complex and I’m appreciated by the fellas I’ve been fortunate enough to have inside of my mouth throat and hole. I’m blessed.

When I'm online, it seems like a lot more bottoms than tops, but when I'm at the bookstore, it seems more even. Maybe even more men wanting serviced by a cocksucker than wanting to be of service. LOVE it when I'm the only cocksucker on duty.

When I read these words (without seeing who they were from) they felt like what I would say.  I used the exact words "unicorn" when someone in my life declared themselves a "domtop" - I said, "be careful, that's a dangerous designation...and it might pigeonhole you" and "how do you know?" and "but does that mean you wouldn't fuck another top?"

The other thing during this really lengthy discussion of proportionality that occurs to me is - the collective "we" hopes for people to be more flexible...the resounding commentary from this thread seems to be "I wish we could all be more flexible."  But we're not actually giving that vibe.

So - let me say this - the best tops seem to know exactly what they are doing, how to do it, the rhythm with which to do it, and have the confidence to do it.  The best bottoms I know seem to instinctually open to a top and move collectively with them.  I wish I knew what the tops knew and could play with them without expectation, and I wish from the best bottoms I knew how they just opened themselves up.  I'm pretty good at fucking but I don't do either as best as those who do it in my opinion.

So, if we say you need to be "X" in order for us to hook up, then we might as well just be stuck exactly who we are.  Tops will be tops, bottoms will be bottoms, and for whatever reason those so sure of their position will be confortable.

I don't know where this stuff comes from, but I do think that:  bottoms likely would like to top; a sizeable number of tops wonder what it's like to be a bottom.  But we're not giving that space.

It's a time-old issue.  The apps and websites only put it front-and-centre.  It's not like we walk around our respective cities with our position preferences plastered on our bodies (well, not all of us, anyway....).  If we were purely dependent on finding mates in public, then we'd resort to just asking - only to find the statistics about the same as our online experiences.

Interestingly, if you do a search by position on the apps or websites, you'll find that there are more guys who list themselves as "versatile" than any other position...but then when you try and chat them up, all they want to talk about is getting fucked.

As to WHY this may be the case?  That's a loaded question (no puns intended).  There's countless older threads that address this topic.

AMEN. The apps and dating websites only put this front-and-centre. Well said.

This is why if I had one WISH for the gay-community it would be for bottoms to top other bottoms. Especially the bottoms that also have average and above size cocks.  Please do not cage those - share them!!
