People say this, but I never really found it the case aside from the paid fist and piss parties. Trough was always full of packs of young men who moped around together and didn't seem to have sex with anyone; regular weekends I'd been saw the place mostly empty.

The loss of an icon, though...maybe I missed the glory days?

You are right, the last few years did see a decline. The nud nite bareback breeding orgies were still fun. Having said that, Club 80 wasn't a sauna, but a cruise club. Still, the towel-free events at Subway (every Tuesday) and Wet (2nd and 4th Monday of each month) are OK. And since 80 closed, the darkroom at Wet has become way busier and sleazier.
