Site admit will (if not already), need to be aware of the fact that the law being brought in only applies to the UK. It does not apply to three nearby populated islands, which non-Brits might not appreciate.

The Crown Dependencies[c] are three offshore island territories in the British Islands that are self-governing possessions of the British Crown. Guernsey and Jersey, (both located in the English Channel and together known as the Channel Islands), and the Isle of Man (in the Irish Sea. Access from these location should continue.

I’ll be blocking country code GB. The places you mention have their own country codes. Before July I’ll confirm that those country codes are being used.

You know, understanding why we have to do these things doesn't help.  WTF do we continue to be impelled to tell everyone else what they are allowed to do with their own body?  This is fukken stupid.

Thanks @rawTOP.  I know we need to know; so thank you for keeping us fully informed of how you're evolving your site.

my controls on my own controversial website are different.  These days "discussion" might be boring to those who prefer to look at photos and videos.  Seeing what you do each step has me question my own exposure; and my options.

I'm sad to hear the UK will be blocked, but I understand why you've had to make the decision. Over the past nine years I've thought of this site as a good resource - back when I was 'barejackbro', 'barejackbro2' and 'barejackbro3' at different times 🤣 as well as now as jd13 - and will be sorry to see it go. Just when I was starting to become fully comfortable with my 'backroom' fetishes too. Ah well, so it goes.

Anyway, thanks and I hope you will be able to reopen to the UK someday. I've appreciated all the work you do on this site, and will enjoy it until July.

Simply banning all 'GB' will not work I'm afraid. Its more complicated than that.

Although the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are not part of the UK, the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), the international body dedicated to promoting international standards), codes them all under "GB-". You may wish to consult SO 3166-2:GB - (the coding system that gives geocodes to administrative divisions of the United Kingdom and the aforementioned islands).

Finally, does anyone know if a copy of the site (as last updated before the ban) will still be available via the 'wayback machine'?

So what exactly will happen?

Aside from being unable to access this site from the UK, what will happen to profiles and posts made by UK members?

Will everything be deleted or simply suspended (retained and visible to non-UK members) in the hope that one day, access will be restored?

Your data won’t be deleted. You can always get a VPN and get around it that way (not that you heard it from me!).

The data I'm using is a 2 character code. So not using the standard you mention.

I read all these messages from guys from the UK and I wonder what exactly the problem is? Why not use a VPN? My Norton anti-virus software comes with a free VPN so what exactly is the problem?

VPN or not, I'm just as concerned about the demise of Skype and how I will show and cum on cam everyday. Have just as many horny global cum contacts there as BZ. Any good cam alternatives?

Telegram has different groups based on your sexual interests and they usually have weekly or more web cam events - usually they provide the link and you can connect.  Just make sure to ask for permission to join the group and once you do, they will send notifications as to when they are having their next web cam event.  It was easy for me, and I am terrible with technology.  So with that being said, I know you're not happy with Skype's demise, but Telegram might offer you alternatives that appeal to your interests.  There has been, at least from my experience, very little "moderation" so feel free to get naked and freaky.

The closer we get to July, the more I am thinking of getting a VPN. Said before I'd just let it go once July arrived and the curtain came donw. Starting to reconsider that... I really enjoy it here...

@jd13 were my state included in rawTOP's code; I would get a VPN a couple months before you need it.  Waiting until the last minute, or after has never served me well.  Being on the bleeding edge of technology has its pitfalls as well.  But VPN is mature technology and you've options.  Better to be on it and never notice the change in July.

And JD, I'm glad you're here too.

@PozBearWI Thanks man, I appreciate that. I think I may end up rejoining Curious Chaser in the fullness of time as well, despite a few (entirely subjective and personal) misgivings. We'll see. Those two Brighton boys probably need contacting and visiting! 🤣

It seems the more the legislators try to wrap cotton wool around everyone, the more that freedoms are reduced while the incidents of crimes increase as more things become criminal. Whilst kids should be protected from paedophiles, a lot more can be done by parents by the combined use of communicating with their kids, supplemented by barrier software such as NetNanny to keep the innocent away from bad sites. As a kid back in the 1950s  most families had an Uncle Ernie that the kids were warned about. However we still had access to "Health and Efficiency" magazines, courtesy of older brothers. In the 1970s I ran a scout troop, and those kids were street wise. They knew what behaviour was inappropriate, and the older boys looked out for the younger boys, they kept them away from risky areas.

Part of the problem with the internet is that the parents are woefully ignorant of the risks and have not educated their kids to cope with the risks. They abrogate that responsibility to the State.
